stark wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2024 11:49 am We've all heard the stories about betting the "Other Baffert" when the opportunity presents itself, a profitable move indeed.

But now I have a question......

I've never read anything about betting the "Other Mark Casse"

Please hurry, I need to know before the 5th and 9th races at Woodbine on Saturday,

TIA.
The other other other other other Mark Casse.
Ain't never seen anything like it, maybe Aidan O'Brien?

As for Casse on Saturday, in the 5th race, 13 are entered and he has 8 of 'em. Oddly, he doesn't have the first or second betting favorite on the morning line.

Then in the 9th, 14 are entered and he has 7 of them. 10/1 on the morning line is his shortest price!
To be fair, he has a lot of them same horses in both races, I think 7 of them.

Maybe she'll be at Golden Gate Fields.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

shame on everyone involved, esp owners who condemn their horses to her "care".

Great news for PETA and any animal welfare organization.

The CHRB continues to just dazzle with its decision making

Does anybody know where Flavien Prat is today? I was really rather shocked when I checked and saw that he's not riding at Woodbine (arguably their biggest racing day), and I couldn't find his name in the entries at CDI or Bel@Aqu either. Was he injured or suspended and I just didn't hear about it?

Also, another jockey whereabouts question: Irad is also not listed on any mounts at Woodbine (rather shocking as well). He does, however, show up at CDI.........but NOT until the 7th race! Where is he in the early part of the day? Kinda weird.

I was pretty shocked about this--- what could possibly go wrong with a trainer
Who has a history of horse cruelty, being allowed to train horses? Disgusting

i used to train with a guy who recently was arrested for animal cruelty after people found 3 dead horses in his property + many others very close to dying of starvation including young foals. he got let out the same night (married to a high ranking police officer) and went right back to training. he has this 28 year old horse who shows the 3ft3 every weekend and everyone knows that horse gets injected all the time but recently he made a post on Instagram being like "people ask how my horse is still so sound and jumping the 3ft3 classes like he was a young horse even tho he is 28 and this is how -video of the horse in a small turnout pen-". like yeah, sure. unfortunately a lot of people just don't care. he has a bunch of loyal clients too. i left long before this happened just based on some other things i saw when riding with him.

Nobody answered me on this question, so I thought I'd ask again. Did Prat just not ride anywhere today or what?

Probably used his whippie 7 times instead of 6 and HISA handed him a vacation?

The news of a penalty like that on a top rider like Prat would have probably made it to at least one of the racing sites.
Maybe he's just helping his family Go Back To School? ;)

Well, I'm glad it wasn't just me! I still think it's a bit bizarre that a rider like Prat would be out of sight on a Saturday in September, especially when there's 4 GI turf stakes at Woodbine with about $4M in purse money being doled out. Still curious to know how come.

He got a suspension earlier this year with the CHRB and got it delayed so he could ride the Belmont. Did he ever serve that?

That may be it, Flanders. Curtis said that he doesn't see him scheduled to ride again until the 19th, which is on Thursday, which means that he'd be off mounts again tomorrow as well. Doesn't really matter, I guess. Just thought it was weird.

Borell also abused her employees, committed fraud, never paid the vets, and stole from owners.

CA banned/suspended trainers in 2019, all of whom look like saints compared to someone who let horses wallow in feces while starving and covered with open sores.
