For something to do, I thought I'd start a discussion on Munnings.

He has been having a pretty good year, although Finite finished 4th in the Fairground Oaks(G2), he sired the winner anyway in Juddmonte's Bonny South, both fillies are out of Tapit mares. Then on the west coast, he has Venetian Harbor, who is pointing towards the SA Oaks or Fantasy Stakes.

He is a pretty solid stallion for Coolmore, he has about 7% SWs to foals aged 3+. What I never realized is, he hasn't shuttled, or if he has they aren't of racing age. That is pretty unheard of for Coolmore stallions, does anyone know why?

Another thing I realized, if Holy Bull wouldn't have brokedown in 1995, Munnings wouldn't exist. His dam was from that first crop convinced in 1995.

I've been keeping an eye on him. He is turning out to be quite a nice broodmare sire!

He is a good sire and a great option for breeders who can't shell out a huge stud fee, but still want a hopefully commercial foal to sell. But, damn, he is a yucky-looking little horse

He’s not that ugly!!! He has a great female family.
I like him a lot and think he’s very useful. He gets precocious runners and older horses, and he has produced some real standouts.

Munnings's head and neck look to small for his stout sprinter body and especially his big bootay, and so that gives him the slight appearance of ugliness.

Whenever I've seen him, his coat has never been nice, he always has a gut, but you can see his ribs. I just don't care for him physically. I already acknowledged that he is quite a nice sire. He's proven himself, so what I think of his looks is just anecdotal at this point.

Another dude with a gut is Noble Mission, who I thought looked pregnant in this video. Might just be my eyes, though.

That is the chubbiest Galileo I've ever seen.
What is Lane's End feeding their horses? Cheeseburgers and fries?

Seriously. Waaaay too fat and cresty.
These are world class farms, you'd think they'd take the stallions being fat more seriously.

I know Claiborne has a habit of overweight stallions and they don't exercise/ride/lunge them, but does Lane's End do anything to exercise their boys?

He had a good weekend, but you know who had an even better one? The Factor, who sired the 1-2 finishers of the San Simeon (gr. IIIT) and the winner of the Muniz Memorial (gr. IIT).

They mentioned exercising their overweight stallions in the Instagram livestream but I can’t recall what exactly they do. But they are aware that their stallions get a little heavy and they do something about it.

^ Lanes End, I mean.

Oh wow, he does look quite chubby. Not sure what thet feed in Europe vs here. I believe they handwalk them but cant imagine that alone will keep weight off. They would need to be lunged to keep moving...

I'm surprised they would let such valuable horses get so overweight. Unless he has some sort of condition predisposing him to weight gain.

I feel like I saw pictures of Sadler's Wells at one point and he was almost Noble Mission level overweight. Is Galileo the same? I don't recall seeing any pics of him looking like that.

If so, Quality Road is just eating the lettuce and tomato.
