The partnership I'm involved with has two colts running this weekend:

Friday at Churchill Downs in race 7: Aces High (Flower Alley x Lambert Point by Charismatic), dam is a half to Point Given.

Saturday at Churchill Downs in race 10: Copperplate (Curlin x Verdana Bold by Rahy), dam is a Grade 3 winner and 2nd dam (Harbour Point) had a great streak going in '92 by running 1st or 2nd in a string of Grade 1, Grade 3, and stakes races--until she bombed and ran last in Paseana's BC Distaff

Now that I've posted this, they'll both probably tank in their respective maidens

How's your experience with this type of small regional partnership been? Always curious to hear about positive experiences with partnerships (as I think it helps cultivate more owners), because I hear about plenty of negative experiences that need to be offset with positive stories.

There are two managing partners, one who takes care of the books and the other is a small-time breeder (one of the fillies he bred is My Wandy's Girl), a bloodstock agent, and wears a few other hats. They're very communicative and I really don't have anything negative to say. They've started sending out not just quarterly statements, but itemized costs for each horse... everything is shown down to the penny, from farrier visits to the cost of bloodwork. They are nothing if not transparent.

I've been involved as an owner with them since 2011, and they've helped open some doors for me as an obsessive fan. Most of the horses are with Steve Margolis, who is also pretty open about things--when you show up at the barn unexpectedly and he shows you the workout board, walks you to the stall, and gives you a 5-minute rundown of what's going on with the horse right there in front of you, it goes a long way to inspire confidence

Even with horses I don't own a percentage of, it's fun to cheer for the stable's runners. They're always aiming for allowance/stakes horses and really aren't into the claiming game. It's been a lot of fun so far, especially when I can make it to the track. Like for the 2013 Oaks and Derby, I had tickets for both days. They ran a filly in an allowance on Oaks day and a colt in the nightcap MSW after the Derby. It didn't matter that they weren't in stakes, it was just the ability to participate in a big day that was so fun. Derby day was cold and miserable, but I stuck around to watch the final race and went up into the owners' seats (which were packed all day) with Margolis to watch it. Good times!

Anyway, I know this isn't really the thread for it, but yeah... my experience with these guys has been positive. They even donate a percentage of winnings to TB charities each year. I think this year it goes to Second Stride.

ETA: To keep with the topic, this is Seeking an Empire, our goofy full-brother to stakes winner Heart Butte. He's found his niche in allowance company at Charles Town, where he spends most of his time at trainer Jeff Runco's farm because they found that he runs better when he gets regular turnout

Obviously I'm thrilled to see Blame get such an impressive winner. Worth noting that Caval is a half to the incredibly durable Derbaas, a Group II winner in Dubai. She should stretch out quite well if given the opportunity.

Live For Now (1/2 to Point Given) and Front Range (Giant's Causeway x Lakeway) were 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the G2 Summertime Oaks. The winner was Jojo Warrior (1/2 to A Z Warrior, etc.).
