Have to wonder how much of that is physical with the yearling or is just because the mare hasn't produced anything. She'd had 7 foals of racing age, 3 starters, 1 winner (who only won once in a Maiden Claimer at age 5). Buyer confidence has to go down a lot when they see that produce record.

Probably that and physical. Looked a bit immature. Just seems like a bad investment…a $5.2 million mare!

I would have to think it's because the mare hasn't produced anything. Looking at my MRH horses and their half siblings who went through, here's what their sale prices were compared to what their half-sibs sold for this year:

Dolce Notte (Bernardini - Midnight Sweetie) sold for $180,000. Half brother by More Than Ready sold for $10,000
Inalattetrouble (Into Mischief - Latte da) sold for $195,000. Half brother by Audible sold for $25,000
Infinite Empire (Empire Maker - Tapitry) sold for $360,000. Half brother by Medaglia d'Oro was an out this year, but she had another half brother by Medaglia d'Oro sell last year for $260,000
Lookwhogotlucky (Lookin at Lucking - Ambleside Park) sold for $115,000. Half brother by Caravaggio sold for $30,000
Provocateur (Into Mischief - Cayala) sold for $600,000. 3/4 (right?) brother by Authentic sold for $485,000
Quantum Theory (Connect - Athenian Beauty) sold for $50,000. Half brother by Volatile sold for $30,000
Sacred Beauty (Classic Empire - Consecrate) sold for $80,000. Half sister by Audible sold for $47,000
Star Six Nine (Dialed In - Wonder Upon a Star) sold for $40,000. Half sister by Higher Power sold for $42,000 (an increase!)
Cable Boss (Quality Road - Song of Bernadette) sold at FT for $685,000. Half brother by Curlin RNA at $250,000
Chasing Time (Not This Time - Race Hunter) sold for $115,000. Half brother by Frosted sold for $67,000
Frosted Oats (Frosted - More Oats Please) sold for $250,000, and her half brother by Omaha Beach also sold for $250,000
Night Combat (Malibu Moon - Annapolis Class) sold for $100,000. Half brother by Classic Empire RNA at $32,000
Three Jewels (American Pharoah - Momentary Magic) sold for $320,000. Half sister by Quality Road sold for $400,000 (an increase!)

The common thread amongst most of these, sad as it is, is that they haven't had a ton of success or haven't even started yet, so their siblings "depreciate".
