Songline(JPN), 2018M. Kizuna(JPN) x Luminous Parade(JPN) by Symboli Kris S(USA), became the third horse in JRA history, following Yamanin Zephyr (1992-93) and Vodka (2008-09), to win the G1 Yasuda Kinen 1600m turf at Tokyo back-to-back on June 4th 2023.
That was her third G1 success.

Auguste Rodin, a son of Deep Impact, won the Epsom Derby this past weekend. I think this is thrilling...to see a grandson of Sunday Silence win the oldest derby in the world and in the birthplace of the Thoroughbred breed. Sunday Silence, rejected by American breeders, has become a true worldwide breed-shaping stallion.

Here's the Bloodhorse article. It contains a high quality video of the entire race: https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... uste-rodin

Raptor's(BRZ) won the G1 Grande Premio Brasil at Gavea, the most prestigious race in the country, under Joao Moreira on June 18th 2023 to become the first horse to achieve the Brazilian Derby - Grande Premio Brasil double in the same year since Bal a Bali(BRZ) in 2014!!!! :D 8-) :D

The son of Hat Trick(JPN) earned an automatic berth to the G1 BC Turf at Santa Anita.
The ''Magic Man'' Joao Moreira was very emotional after the victory as he won the Grande Premio Brazil for the first time!!

What a filly!!
She came flying from last!!

Neverwalkalone(BRZ), 2020F. Agnes Gold(JPN) x Zafira(BRZ) by Redattore(BRZ), won the G1 Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile Fillies 1600m turf at San Isidro, Argentina, on June 23rd 2023.
Is the Agnes Gold x Redattore a magic cross?
Both Neverwalkalone and the 2nd No Fear(BRZ) look very promising and I would love see these Agnes Gold 2yo daughters ship to race in the US at some point!!!

JRA's reigning Horse of the Year Equinox(JPN), 2019C. Kitasan Black(JPN) x Chateau Blanche(JPN) by King Halo(JPN), won the Takarazuka Kinen 2200m turf at Hanshin under Christophe Lemaire to extend his G1 winning streak to four on June 25th 2023.

The runner-up Through Seven Seas(JPN), 2018M. Dream Journey(JPN) x Mighty Slew(JPN) by Kurofune(USA), should get an honorable mention as she came flying from the rear under Kenichi Ikezoe with a tough trip. She is a great-granddaughter of Sunday Silence(USA), too!!

last Saturday, Orla de Ipanema (Agnes Gold) won the G2 GP Francisco Villela de Paulo Machado impressively. she was so well clear in the end that her jockey spent the last furlong just celebrating the victory ;) :D! and an extremely fun fact — her dam, Classic Road (Wild Event), is a ½ sister to the dam of GP Brasil's winner Raptor's! what a boost to that page!

Interesting comments by both Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore on the similarities between Sunday Silence and Auguste Rodin in interviews after the Derby. After watching replays of SS in the Preakness, O'Brien said that looking at Sunday Silence you thought you were looking at Auguste, they were the very same. Sunday Silence indeed stamped his off spring!

Auguste Rodin(IRE), 2020C. Deep Impact(JPN) x Rhododendron(IRE) by Galileo(IRE), completed the famous Derby double with a brilliant victory in the G1 Irish Derby 12F at Curragh on July 2nd 2023.

It seems that Dabirsim(FR)(Hat Trick) has a very nice one!

Horizon Dore(FR), 2020G. Dabirsim(FR) x Sweet Alabama(FR) by Enrique(GB), won the G2 Prix Eugene Adam 2000m turf impressively at Saint Cloud on July 8th 2023. :D
We will see him in a G1 soon!!!

Fun fact: winner #1 is a gelding named Third Street and he was a $3000 RNA earlier this year.

Thank you!
I don't imagine that Yoshida's offspring will be precocious.
Yoshida(JPN) himself broke his maiden at 3 and got better with ages. So did Hilda's Passion(USA).
I only hope that US breeders will be patient and give him a better group of broodmares going forward.

It looks like Yoshida's sire Heart's Cry(JPN) is a wonderful sire-of-sires and I hardly imagine that Heart's Cry-line's stud prodpect will fall shy of Deep Impact-line's. Furthermore, Heart's Cry's offspring's record on the dirt is much better than Deep Impact's offspring's.
Most recently, Heart's Cry's freshman stallion Suave Richard(JPN) got off to a flying start in Japan.
Like Hilda's Passion, Suave Richard's dam Pirramimma(USA) is a Mr Prospector-line mare.
Yoshida should have a bright future and I believe that Heart's Cry-line will be best fitted for the North American racing.

That is if Winstar gives him the chance.

Thank you!!!! :D
Sunday Silence was such a handsome guy.
I believe that he ran three races at Santa Anita in 1989 -- ALW (March 2nd), San Felipe (March 19th) and Santa Anita Derby (April 8th)
Do you know when this photo was taken?
