It's definitely anyone's race.. Hopefully, anyway, since the 5, 9, & 18 that I like are all longshots.
Yes, the Satsuki Sho this year must be one of the most wide open in its history.

Personally I'm very interested in the sire-lines' battle in the Japanese Classic & G1s this year.
Both the Sunday Silence-line (Halo/Hail to Reason) and the King Kamehameha-line (Kingmambo/Mr Prospector) are strong as always and well represented in this Satsuki Sho.
But the Northern Dancer-line sends promising colts, too, with the sons of Harbinger, Declaration of War, Mind Your Biscuits and Satono Crown.
From this point of view, this Satsuki Sho looks like a three-way battle!!

The Halo line is also represented by Meiner Laulea, whose damsire, Roses In May, traces back through Devil His Due/Devil's Bag/Halo.

Yeah, the Futurity and Hopeful winners aren't here... I don't know who to root for... Maybe Top Knife, he is a really pretty black.

And Sol Oriens, very pretty name plus he is by Kitasan Black. But gate number 1 is meh...

If I have to pick one horse in this field, I will go with Sol Oriens who I think was the most impressive performer in prep races for the Satsuki Sho.
As you said, his concern is his post position #1, especially when today's turf condition should not be firm due to yesterday's rainfall.
We don't know how the going will play today.
Some say outside posts, that are normally unfavorable, would be fine today.

IMO he has a chance at the triple crown.

He will be even better as he grows and I think will like the distance :P

Yeah, his dam side is really filled with stamina influence, maybe more than Equinox's.
He will run all day even on the soft!

Two SUPERSTAR three-year-olds have emerged in Japan the last two weeks!
Sol Oriens and Liberty Island!

and many fans should have remembered Duramente (2015 Satuski sho winner) watching Sol Oriens' late charge yesterday.

I am looking for a race. Mochinoki Sho 11/6/22
where Continuar lost by only a nose to Derma Sotogake. It was Continuar's 2nd race.

I am trying to compare their 2 yo form.

I believe anyone only watching the UAE will not get the whole picture.

Can't find video on the Mochinoki Sho. Anyone help ?
