JRA conducts fan’s ballot on the ''Best Race (Matchup) in Japan'' on its 68th anniversary.
https://www.jra.go.jp/special/2022jraanniversary/
Racing fans are invited to cast votes on their favorite races (picking up one from the ten entries listed below) on the internet until Sep 25th.
I like this JRA’s idea and pretty much agree with JRA’s selections (ten entries below).
It’s a real shame that all the youtube videos attached are in Japanese (ugh), but they are with excellent footages.
I wonder if one may feel about our passion to those famous races!!!

Thank you so much for the update on Up To Date! I feared the worst after the way his racing career ended. He looks well and that's all that matters. As for being a fan of Japanese racing? I have been since the first horse I ever got really attached to went to stud there: Sunday Silence. Over the years I have followed racing there to see his offspring race and because the horses tend to have longer careers to enjoy. I have had many favorites over the years: Kurofune, Wing Arrow, Wonder Acute, Copano Rickey, Makiba Sniper, Abukuma Poro, Grass Wonder, Daiwa Texas, Meisho Doto, Narita Top Road, Eishin Preston, Agnes Digital, Seiun Sky, Jungle Pocket, Oken Bruce Lee, Trot Thunder, Calstone Light O, Trot Star, Meisho Samson, Isla Bonita, Black Hawk, Snow Dragon, Red Falx, Contrail, and of course Sunday Silence sons Special Week and Stay Gold and SG's two sons, Orfevre and Gold Ship. Currently, I follow closely the careers of Chuwa Wizard, Omega Perfume, Grimm, Kafuji Octagon, Titleholder, Geoglyph, Equinox, Stay Foolish, Jack D'or, and Boccherini. And I'll leave it at that before I list every Japanese thoroughbred I've ever followed. (Sorry, got carried away, just a little.)tachyon wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 9:41 amHello MissNMecke,MissNMecke wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:09 am I'll go with the three most recent ones: 1, 2, and 3. ''Titleholder team dreaming of first Japanese Arc success''
https://www.attheraces.com/news/2022/Se ... rc-success
I do think that Titleholder is a very good horse, probably the best Japanese contender since Orfevre.
But the biggest concern is his jockey Kazuo Yokoyama who doesn't have any international experience.
Moreover he runs in the Arc without a local prep.
Japan has had three silver medalists in El Condor Pasa, Nakayama Festa and Orfevre, all of whom had run local preps.
I only hope that Titleholder will set the pace in his rhythm and can handle the Longchamp turf.
