636, City of Light x Birdie Birdie filly, is a handsome leggy bay. Goes for a nice $750,000. Is that the highest bid for this first-year stallion?

648, Into M x Cathryn Sophia colt, goes for $675,000.
He appears to have withers set back kind of far.

649, Curlin x Cavorting colt, goes to $550,000. He doesn't look as husky as some Curlins.

650, a pretty bay AP x Celebrity Cat filly. Not many Storm Cat mares still producing, I would guess. Nice female family. $50,000. Ouch.

661, Quality Road x Color Me Flying filly, female family of My Flag, goes for a nice $700,000. Even if she can't run, she should make a good addition to a broodmare band.

Not sure I would want the guy trying to sell a yearling invoke the name Cezanne.

Purchased by Juddmonte so they're likely thinking the same.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 6:02 pm 661, Quality Road x Color Me Flying filly, female family of My Flag, goes for a nice $700,000. Even if she can't run, she should make a good addition to a broodmare band.

722, colt by Arrogate x G1 winner Got Lucky, may test the interest in Arrogate. Can't get a lot better than a G1 A.P. Indy dam....$150,000.

723, City of Light x Grand Glory sells well, $650,000. CoL seems to be doing well for a freshman sire.

I wonder if Coolmore will lease American Pharoah to Japan for a year or two. I haven't heard that his SH runners have done a lot and I think his yearling price down there were fairly down from the first year. A lot of the ones bought so far have been by Japanese interests anyway.

Right? I noticed that years ago. First thing they comment on is that the colt has a great stallion pedigree. Drives me crazy.Squeaky wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 1:45 pm It is a bit disappointing to me that in all of the interviews I have read by buyers of these sales toppers the first thing they mention is wanting to “ make a stallion”. No mention of success on the track, training, soundness etc. All about breeding success. Breed to breed not to race seems to be the theme.
