Interesting on Decade/Cilla. Cilla ran once in a turf stakes race last year and finished well beaten. I don't think Decade has run on turf, but being out of an UBS mare, I could see her maybe having an affinity for it.

Cilla was also cross-entered in a turf stakes when she won the dirt one.

Excellent run from both, but I do think that both benefitted from it being taken off the turf.

It's also apparent she can run on slop or on fast tracks.

Catching up to do:

Sol Dorado (2019. f. o/o Folly Fashion, by Old Fashioned) broke her maiden in Race 5 at Woodbine (July 17). The rare gray Chrome produce has 1 win and 1 second in 2 starts.

Beachside Bunny was third in the Pea Patch Overnight S. at Ellis Park.

Cattaleya Ronith won Race 8 at Balterra Park (July 20). Second win.

California Katie was second in Race 5 at Evangeline Downs (July 15).

Also, a 2020 colt o/o Honeymoon Cruise (Archarcharch) named Aloha Chrome is selling at Wanamaker's.

There's been more winners in Chile but I'll have to catch up more with that.

Tayler's Chrome (o/o Sam's Bliss by War Front) etched her 3rd win today, winning by 12 lengths at Monmouth. She's been on the board 6 of her 10 career starts.

Perseverancia (o/o Undeterred by More Than Ready) broke her maiden on her 4th try, but her first try on turf. She won by 5 length and track announcer said she won "in a canter".

All turf races except the one dirt race ( which was her only off the board finish).

Sorry! The group I'm in said it was the first try on turf; should've looked it up in Equibase to confirm!

Ocean California becomes California Chrome's first stakes winner in Chile. Interestingly, he won more money winning his maiden race.

Cal Fragrance (o/o G1PSW Right There) finally breaks through as California Chrome's first winner in Japan.

She won a 1500 meter race at Kawasaki on dirt in 1:37.8. She won by about 3-4 lengths.

She now has a record of 7: 1-1-1.

Family of Silver Charm.

Chrome Blame is entered in the First Crown Stakes (RUS-G1) tomorrow at Rostov-on-Don. He is undefeated and will face 4 rivals. I believe the race will go off early tomorrow morning our time.

Russia is not currently a part of the IFHA, so none of their stakes races count as blacktype, but they are working to become part of the IFHA. Hopefully Russian racing becomes for accessible to the global public eye because I'm interested in what I see so far. They also commonly race trotters, Arabians, and Akhal Tekes.

He sure did! And racing over there certainly appears to be..."rustic" I would say but that was still a very impressive race he ran. Thoroughly good performances so far.

I have only seen a couple of races but it does sort of give a "bush league" vibe, huh?

Some do, some don't. Most of their racing is dirt racing and a lot of the bigger tracks look like if Kentucky Downs was dirt with turf in the middle. Many of them are more streamlined.

Central Moscow Hippodrome kind of looks like Seoul.

They also primarily give winners ribbons and blankets. They do have garlands but they are much smaller. I would assume they probably have bigger garlands occasionally.
