David Redvers of Tweenhills Bloodstock fame (Kameko, Roaring Lion) purchased a Kitten's Joy colt out of MGSW Proctor's Ledge for a nice price of $155K. One to watch in the future if history is anything to go by.

For the first time, I am looking at some of these mares that were sent to Justify in his first year via the weanlings at the sales, and I have to ask for more than a few of them- they paid a $200K stud fee for this mare? Just makes me wonder how long it took Coolmore to fill his first book ( especially at the levels they like to fill) and how many breeders paid the full price.

It would explain why Coolmore seems to be disproportionately sending their own top mares to Justify in his first years than they did Pharoah.

Apparently, the entire female family of Contrive that can still be bred is being put up for sale.

I agree that these don't look like 200k stud fee mares but they probably aren't. Either they got cut a deal or they are shareholder mares. I would imagine each shareholder could use multiple coverings if they chose to. I'd guess he probably was syndicated to around 60-75 shares, making each share $1m to $1.25m. They get 2 breeding each, they decide if they want to use them or have Coolmore sell them, then pool the money from the rest of the coverings (minus fees like management, care, insurance, advertising, etc.) and split it between the shareholders.

I feel like there are mares like that in every high end stallion's book.

Worth noting that Mandy Pope didn't buy a single horse today. Of course it's only the first day, but I don't believe she bought anything at Fasig-Tipton, either.

Larry Best is sending (1.9m) purchase, Indian Miss, to Instagrand. He hasn't made a decision on 2021 for Concrete Rose(1.85m) but said he will most likely breed her to Instilled Regard in 2022.

Wow, the prices at Keeneland sure seemed to fall off a cliff today. If this is the second day, I shudder to think what they will be seeing at the end of the week and next week.

Do you know anything about the connections who purchased Dancing Rags? I love her sire and would like to keep up with her as well!
DANCING RAGS i/f CURLIN sold for $1.1M at The #FasigNovember Sale! Congrats to the connections.
B: Nobutaka Tada
C: Royal Oak Farm (Damien & Braxton Lynch), agent
INDELIBLE i/f NYQUIST sold for $1.6M at The #FasigNovember Sale! Congrats to the connections.
B: Nobutaka Tada
C: Lanes End, agent
I don't know yet and will keep an eye on it.
Nobutaka Tada is a famous agent.
But he races some horses for himself, too.
I feel it's been a while he is seen in a major market.
But I remeber he knocked down Casino Drive(USA) for the owner Hidetoshi Yamamoto.
He is also known to have strong relationships with Kazuo Fujisawa and Yasushi Kubota.

Yeah, I saw that. Wonder what their plans are for him; that's a lot more money than I thought he'd bring.
