I'm watching the yearlings, it is strangely hypnotizing.

Right now a gorgeous Deep Impact colt (damsire is Ghostzapper) went for nearly $900.000. Whoo!

I wonder how much yearling prep is done for the sale? The four I've seen so far all seem very high-strung, rearing & bucking & just pushing the handlers around. I know my in-person experience is limited to one sale (yearlings & horses of racing age) but they just seem more nervous than I've seen before...

I see they're re-showing the yearling session now. I started watching at 5am my time.....oddly addictive LOL

That last colt through...#244 (by Rulership).. What a BRAT! Rearing, kicking, STRIKING with his front legs. And he sold for over $600,000 US LOL

Interested to see the foal session later. Wonder when it starts?

Yes! That was the kind of behavior I was seeing when I first started watching. Sooooo high strung.

Hip 107 - Deep Impact x Jioconda $1.9mil
Hip 108 - Tapit x Champagne d'Oro $1.8mil

To be honest I liked the other Deep Impact colt I saw better... And yes, MM, he was out of Contested...

You're welcome.

The local racing media reports that Hilda's Passion 2014 (#87 by Heart's Cry), who
was knocked down to the Winstar Farm agent, will race in America.

And here we go... hip 301, a spunky & good-looking chestnut colt by Orfevre, damsire is Stormy Atlantic.

(He has the cranky handler from yesterday, though... :-p)

If nothing else I've learned the Japanese characters for colt & filly!

$650,000 at the hammer.

Is this Stay Gold's last crop? Or did he get some mares in foal this spring?

I'd totally put hip 307 in my pocket and take him home! <3
