He isn't doing that bad, I think its the 3yo crop that is hurting him because there are so few of them. He has a couple 2yo SWs this year.mariasmon wrote:ThreeMustangs wrote:I know what you mean, although Congrats got off to a really good start at stud before he fizzled. Maybe they think he'll come back as his crops with better quality mares hit the track. Or perhaps there was just something they liked about the physical and pedigree match. Dear Birdie had more success crossed with Grindstone and Cape Town than she did with far more expensive/commercially desirable stallions, so there's got to be something to that. Personally, I'd like to see them try her with More Than Ready and/or Lonhro. Her 2YO filly Continental Drift (Smart Strike) was exported to the UK and is in Roger Charlton's stable, but hasn't debuted.mariasmon wrote: c. Congrats x Intercontinental (GB) (5/16)
Kinda scratching my head at that one. Juddmonte could literally breed her to any stallion in the world, and they chose Congrats? Beautiful pedigree and a nice runner, but not exactly setting the world on fire at stud.
