So he might not have been in his fine form today.

Super Do Deuce will surely be voted the 2024 Horse of Year.
He will run his final in the Arima Kinen before retiring to Shadai Stallion Station as a very popular stallion.

Would you say he's the best son of Heart's Cry? I liked Just a Way, so I might be biased toward him. I'm just happy that the US-bred/raced mares who've gone to Japan are producing horses like Do Deuce, etc.

Mariasmon, wasn't Dust and Diamonds(USA) one of the best progeny Vindication(USA) ever sired at stud?
No I don't remember Dust and Diamonds.
But I do remember Vindication because I was still in the state while he was racing.
I was watching the BC Juvenile he won denying a highly-touted European invader Hold That Tiger!!!
Coincidentally, Hold That Tiger had been trained by Aidan O'Brien who sent Auguste Rodin to Japan Cup yesterday to be denied by Do Deuce, a grandson of Vindication!!
Is it only me who feels a strange coincidence?

Anyway, I'm very happy that Dust and Diamonds came all the way to Japan.
I wonder if Do Deuce has an impeccable pedigree, inheriting the stamina and the ''turn of foot'' from his sire-line as well as the devastating speed and the precociousness from his dam side.
I would think that Do Deuce has everything to be successful at stud.
And Dust and Diamonds will continue to be a great producer!!!!

Dust and Diamonds or Broadway's Alibi would probably be Vindication's best progeny. I hoped he would be a good broodmare sire, as he was bred to a lot of quality mares his first few years at stud. I'm not sure if that's really played out, but he has Do Deuce and Elite Power to his credit.

I will be curious to see how Do Deuce's SW 1/2 sister Fulleren does as a producer. Looks like she had her first foal, a Chrysoberyl filly, this year. It's exciting to see that there is a Contrail 1/2 brother to Do Deuce in the pipeline, as well!

That IS a coincidence. I didn't even think about the Hold That Tiger/Vindication angle.

He also has Exaggerator and Yaupon. As a broodmare sire he is sitting at 4% SW for foals of racing age. Is that good? I have no clue what a good SW% is for a broodmare sire. Buckpasser had 10%, Mr. Prospector 8%, Secretariat 5%.

Same. LDK has always been underrated as a sire. He may not have lit up the auction ring, but he would get you a runner. Plus, his 9.05 AWD is a rarity in this country.
