Not that surprising, since the market in North America for top class turf mares is very thin. I think of all the mares that have been purchased from American sales by Japanese connections, this one looks to be one of the most well suited for Japanese racing.

I look forward to seeing who she will be bred to, though I guess Deep Impact would be the obvious choice

Um.. I'm not necessarilly a big fan of Shadai (Northern Farm -- Katsumi Yoshida) who buys up all mares from all over the world.
But I did like Mr Ramsey's comments here!!

"Now I have two reasons to go to Japan because my homebred stallion Roses in May is there at Big Red Farm. I think a little vacation in Japan is in store for the family."

Welcome to Japan, Stephanie's Kitten, Mr Ramsey and his family. :D
I pray that you will enjoy your stay in Japan. ;)
