The only other one who went over €1 million, is hip 127 f. by Frankel - Platonic, by Zafonic. She sold for €1.15 million and if a half-sister to Pacfique.tachyon wrote:Wow! New sales record!!!

Does seem a little low. Was she on the small side or was the handler tall?carole wrote:Half sis to champion Stacelita by Frankel just went for what seems like a low 450,000 Euros

Agree. I was expecting more fireworks which is why I was watching. Honestly it felt like a waste of time. When she started at 500,000 I thought she would really go up, but it was slow.carole wrote:Must say that was rather disappointing, the bidding barely lasted 2 mins. And that awkward silence when no one wanted to bid above 1.2million

I couldn't stay up late last night.
But it looks like the main feature of this sales was not 'Treve' but 'Chicquita''.
Yes, everyone knew she was so talented, haha.

Excited that the Frankel x Platonic filly is going to Ed Dunlop!
I did not know she had failed to sell for 22k 1.2 million is an expensive buyback... What I don't get is why people stopped bidding. I mean from a business pov, you wouldn't even need to race her, you could probably make some very good money just by breeding her because the value would then be in the pedigree/genetic combination. Imagine her going to Giant's Causeway, Frankel, Dubawi, Sea The Stars/Galileo/Australia etc. Those yearlings would probably sell like hotcakes. It remains to be seen whether prospective buyers will kick themselves in the future, as they did when the Heads took Treve home after she failed to sell for €22,000 at the Arqana October Yearling Sale in 2011.
