I've noticed a handful of Ramsey bred foals being born this year that are bred on the Sadler's Wells/Sadler's Wells cross. I've noticed at least 3 by Bullet Train(Sadler's Wells) and 1 by Midas Touch(Galileo) all out of Kitten's Joy mares. This cross only gets a D on TrueNicks. The cross has produced 353 foals, 118 starters, 55 winners, 3 SWs(3% SWs/starters ratio), avg winning distance 9.14f.

The Bullet Train/Kitten's Joys are going to be 2 x 4 to Sadler's Wells. The cross may work, time will tell, but I just think its way to close. Kitten's Joy as a broodmare sire has 2 starters and 2 winners.

There are just other lines that have shown they work very well over Sadler's Wells line mares.

From what I've read about Ken Ramsey, he is serious (I'd even say obsessed  ) about examining bloodlines.
He chose certain crosses for the first batch of mares that he bought for KJ, and results seem to prove that he was choosing well.
So, while having Sadler's Wells so close on both sides might appear too close, I don't think I want to second-guess Ramsey's decisions when it comes to breeding. (And I'm pleased that he is giving Bullet Train a chance with his mares.)
Guess we'll all find out in a few years if he was right.
