Clever Allemont dies at Old Friends

Rebel Stakes winner and Old Friends retiree Clever Allemont was euthanized due to colic the morning of May 26. The son of Clever Trick—Allemont, by Carlemont was 32.

Clever Allemont had spent more than five years at Old Friends after being rescued from the road to slaughter in 2008.

Very sorry to hear this- hard year for Old Friends. I know that these guys where getting up there, but still. Way too many losses for the good folks, almost too much to bear.

Hoping the paddocks will be full once again with retirees to help ease the pain of recent losses, although they can never be replaced.

Very sad news about Clever. May he RIP.
His story is amazing. He looked like he was the most thankful of any horse there, and was loved to the end.

While it's sad that he passed away, it's still one of those feel good stories. He got to live out his last years being loved and cherished by many. RIP
