That's all stuff that was announced at the time of his death.

I will only say I love Sunday Silence. His death didn't diminish that for me.

Huh, guess I never read the actual reports from the day he died, just stuff posted after the fact. Thanks for sharing that.

Sure no problem. Yeah I don't think I've read it mentioned in any articles since then but I knew I had read it somewhere so I looked around. Its like yes he did die from heart failure but the underlying cause was the laminitis, so that is what is always stated.

He did a good job!

Does anyone have any information about Argentine champion colt Ivar(BRZ)?
His US debut seems to have been delayed while posting track works steadily.

If I understand the Turf Diario article correctly, he was originally set to debut at Keeneland, but Keeneland canceled its spring meet due to COVID. The trainer seems to want to race him at Keeneland specifically.

The only tracks open for racing in the USA right now are Gulfstream Park, Oaklawn Park, Will Rogers Downs, and Fonner Park (am I missing one?). Ivar would have to travel to one of these tracks, which would be difficult because of COVID. It would be even more difficult for any connections that would want to follow him, and they would even likely have to be in quarantine.

Churchill and Santa Anita are trying really hard to open back up again, which is being delayed for a plethora of reasons. Santa Anita is having to deal with PETA lobbyers, it seems.

TL;DR Ivar is having to play a waiting game like the majority of horses in North America right now because of COVID.

That's terrible.
The undefeated colt has already been unraced for more than ten months.
I hope that he can get back in the game after a long layoff.
Thanks for the info.

Hopefully Churchill gets up and running soon; it isn't that far from Keeneland. It should be similar enough to Keeneland (same climate).

Ah yes! I knew I was forgetting one.

ETA: Remington Park is also open but they're primarily racing quarter horses right now.

Race fovorite Fierement(JPN), 2015H. Deep Impact(JPN) x Lune d'Or(FR) by Green Tune(USA), won the G1 Tenno Sho (Spring) 3200m turf under super Christophe Lemaire by outduelling narrowly longshot Stiffelio(JPN)(Stay Gold) at Kyoto on May 2nd 2020.
Fierement became only the fifth horse to win back to back the Tenno Sho Spring following Mejiro McQueen(JPN)(Mejiro Titan), TM Opera O(JPN)(Opera House), Fenomeno(JPN)(Stay Gold) and Kitasan Black(JPN)(Black Tide).
And Christophe Lemaire became the first jockey in history to win four Tenno Sho (Spring & Autumn) in a row!

I'm not sure where the old English-language race commentator for the JRA went, but this new guy is... not good.

It's the regular guy - Murray Johnson? At least on tachyon's replay link.

Nah, this guy is new. This is Murray Johnson:

This new guy was probably just replacing Johnson for the day, but... it's a noticeable difference.

They sound exactly the same to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Unless it's his partner who does the handicapping/paddock commentary?

@ tachyon

Churchill Downs is opening for racing this month, so hopefully Ivar can take a drive to there from Keeneland and race.
