I think you could be right. There is a photo of Malibu Moon from 2013 and he is outside of the stall that has Seattle Slew's nameplate on the top. But can't see the then current nameplate.

I spent a good 30 minutes last night scouring Google images, Instagram, and Spendthrift tour videos trying to read the nameplates in the U barn  nerd moment for sure

The 2021 breeding/2022 foaling stats have been released by the Jockey Club. Keep in mind that mares foaling outside the US wont necessarily show up, though as the article says, some do. Also there were some mares bred on Southern Hemisphere time.

https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... 2-for-2022

Here is the list of stallions (alphabetical) if anyone wanted to see how many reported foals a stallion had in 2022.
https://www.jockeyclub.com/default.asp? ... tyear=2021

The 2022 Report of Mares Bred comes out later in the month, usually next week.

On first glance, I see there were 82 live foals from the *paltry* 126 mares Laoban's covered abbreviated and final crop.

Hope trying to get him interested in breeding again after only covering 126 mares was worth it.

War Front had 40 live foals from 75 mares covered - 53% :?

Do you think the breeders who have one of the only 25 Sharp Azteca foals may be a bit excited?

Palace Malace covered 207 mares in 2020 ... and 14 in 2021. How did I miss that. Yikes. Interested see how many he got in 2022.

Since War Front is 20, plus he's a Danzig, 40 foals from 75 covered may not be bad.

When I follow the link provided, it doesn’t show me that War Front (for example) had 40 live foals born. I can only see that he bred 75 mares. Am I doing something wrong?

Yeah. His son Fog of War's 28 foals from 92 mares in his first year at stud is more concerning.

here are this year's numbers for the stallions that covered more than 200 mares last year. keep in mind this comes from their BH+ profile so it might change slightly once the official reports are out, and until year's end really, due to not all reports being in and also SH mares.

Stallion 2022 numbers (2021 numbers)
Practical Joke 227 (231)
Goldencents 130 (230)
Authentic 202 (229)
Vekoma 196 (222)
Maclean's Music 200 (221)
Munnings 201 (219)
Into Mischief 202 (216), his lowest number since... 2014. talk about overbreeding...
Omaha Beach 205 (215)
McKinzie 171 (214)
Mitole 202 (208)
American Pharoah 145 (210)
Mo Town 218 (204)

The numbers in parenthesis. Were those the number of mares who checked in foal vs mares bred? Or are those last year's numbers? Six of the horses on this list are spendthrift stallions no surprise

Tourist only bred 17 mares this year with 13 reports recieved. Anyone else not going to be surprised if tourist is one of the next few WinStar stallions to ship out? Who else from WinStar do you think might go?

FDB, Cross Traffic and Hit it a Bomb will be gone real soon. Coal Front too, probably, if his foals aren't runners. it's how they do things at Spendthrift nowadays. can't get large books, you're out in a few years.

Nashville & Tourist sale contracts to another continent are probably sitting in a drawer waiting to be signed, lol. bet you $5 Nashville will be gone the second they realize their... stallion with fast workouts (seriously, they used a workout video for his stallion ad) and soundness issues... isn't the second coming of Northern Dancer
