I think if what I could do with the sales prices of Got Stormy, MG, Midnight Bisou and Rushing Fall and my head wants to pop off! Lol
Rushing Fall is stunning looks wise.
All the best to every horse through the ring tonight.

Are they going to earn enough to cover the insurance premiums?CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 8:23 pmMeredith DaughertyFlyToTheStars wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 8:21 pm The only big mare is Beholder that they own. Wonder if they would run MG one more season

Monomoy Girl and Got Stormy to go back into training per Ned Toffey of Spendthrift. Farm and racing operation purchased both mares @FasigTiptonCo

I didn't expect that they would sell for that much, especially Monomoy Girl, wow

Spendthrift just bought She's A Julie for 3 million. I am now really thinking, they are going to announce a new microshare partnership, not just as a bit of a joke.
Upgrading a broodmare band doesn't necessarily mean overpaying for great racemares. Just look at how the Japanese do it. They are great at getting good broodmares in the 500K-1.5M range.

It wouldn't surprise me if 15% split into .01% shares, shows up on myracehorse.com.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 8:55 pm Spendthrift just bought She's A Julie for 3 million. I am now really thinking, they are going to announce a new microshare partnership, not just as a bit of a joke.

Someone must feel the need to denigrate at least one person every day, and time was running out today.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 6:46 pmJesus. Really? No let's definitely cut off all their winter coat right before winter just so they get to wear a coat all winter which will adversely affect their ability to grow back a winter coat just for the show of a sales ring. Euros are smarter- they show the weanlings as they are, with a good brush.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I have no problem owning this snark. Treating the TB like a halter horse is why it as a breed has become so much worse at being able to do its job.

Especially with the announcement that they are keeping the mares in training, seems like they can have their cake and eat it too.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 8:55 pm Spendthrift just bought She's A Julie for 3 million. Yeah, Japanese interests seemed to go for sale toppers or mares over 3mil in 2008-2015, but as of late it seems to mostly be private sales or mares in the 500k-1.5mil range and they're still killing it. With the crazy prices at their yearling sales, pretty much every mare pays for herself after two or three foals.

Right? I didn’t come near in my guess for Uni either.
I liked how her handler was petting her shoulder. I would have a hard time not booping each nose lol
Are they doing it differently this year - are the handlers the consignment employees or other connections (like for MG) to keep contact minimal?

And Spendthrift just bought another one for 1.5M. This is getting a bit ridiculous.
Speaking of which, I am pretty sure Lake Villa Farm who bought Street Band for $1M is Japanese.

I'm not gonna lie -- if somebody offered me a micro share of MG, I would take it, no questions asked. When I saw they aren't retiring her, I barged in on my husband in the shower and told him that I have one more year to finally watch her race in person!!Flanders wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:03 pmIt wouldn't surprise me if 15% split into .01% shares, shows up on myracehorse.com.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 8:55 pm Spendthrift just bought She's A Julie for 3 million. But maybe I'm just sentimental. She's my ultimate heart horse.

The more I think about it, the more excited I am that Spendthrift bought MG and Got Stormy. They treat Beholder like an absolute queen, and maybe they're preparing to host 'Meet Monomoy Girl' and 'Got Stormy' days? I've always wondered why more farms don't host special events like that, to kinda recoup some of their money. The fans clearly turn out for Beholder and RA.
Maybe Mandy Pope ought to do the same, considering none of Songbird or Havre de Grace's foals will ever make it to the sales and thus far Grace's foals aren't paying her back on the track...

I was asking a question. I do body clip the horses I work all winter. I assumed that weanlings head to training farms to start the breaking process.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:12 pm I have no problem owning this snark. I’m not really clear how body clipping relates to making a TB halter horse?

No problem with that. I think every billionaire should aspire to spend their entire fortune before they die. Just think there are some serious red flags in the small print of the MRH that have always bothered me. However, one doesn't become a billionaire by not knowing how to accumulate money in whatever way it works.
