That is very unique- almost like God couldn't decide to give that one a blaze on the nose or not.Slewgal wrote:This one has some interesting makings. Saw her at keeneland bluegrass morning.

I know that Golden Lad was mentioned before, but I got some good shots of his spots at Pimlico the other weekend.
More pics of him are here: http://thoroughbredjourney.com/2014/05/seeing-spots/

Very interesting markings...I wonder if any TV racing commentator has ever said, 'boy, that horse looks really lathered up on his neck?'

He is very flashy and is going to be a gorgeous horse. Forgive me if this was asked before, but were you shocked when you saw his color? It just fascinates me how many rabicanos there have been lately, when honestly I couldn't probably have named one 5 years ago.Bold Carma wrote:

This is my fourth repeat of this cross, but the first chestnut. The mare has had three other chestnut foals by different stallions, but all had minimal amount of white (just a star). Of the four bays, there were a few white hairs throughout all of them (miniscule amount), and two of them had white feet, but not high stockings or anything.
The mare is chestnut, four white socks, thin stripe down her face, with a little ticking near her stifle. Stallion is bay, with star, short stripe, and a patch of roaning around his right eye.
I find it pretty fascinating stuff!

As soon as I saw her legs in that picture, my first thought was, "She has Marquetry legs!"sweettalk wrote:

I wasn't familiar with her, but I just looked her up and see that she actually IS by Marquetry

reminds me of how Team valor's Lucky Chappy looks, only he is dark whereas she is a chestnut. I wonder if, like Lucky Chappy, she'd be considered a rabicano.
