Coolmore was the underbidder on the Bounding colt. Not sure about the BYC colt, but the “lads” do love them some War Front.

I've come to respect the Japanese eye for horseflesh over the years, and IMHO this is quite an endorsement of 'Chrome's future as a sire.

Well, they value durability and stamina in addition to brilliance, and Shadai made mention of the fact they liked his versatility with dirt and grass so I am certainly happy they are looking towards him. A branch of his female family (through Sunny Swaps which includes Transcend) has done well there and of course they have Mind Your Biscuits at stud as well. He may end up having a few yearlings over there as I think the Like A Million and Aura of the Moon yearlings are Japanese- owned and I haven't seen them in a sales catalog yet. The weanling from Like A Million was nominated to BC from Japan. They also seem to like the Tapits so that might be contributing as well. I always find it fun to see who is buying the first yearlings. Chrome was always going to have to prove himself on the track first before the sales would follow.

I would like to know what the hell is going on with Runhappys, though. I feel as though I am being gaslighted when I see a 400K + average. Even if the yearlings look the part and he had a decent books of mares, he is from a sireline that is not exactly prolific (although Competitive Edge has started off right) and from a female family that has had some flashes but really only gets interesting with another branch off the 5th dam. I guess the Claiborne name will go pretty far.

And both of those fillies have a very nice dam side, as well, which would make them doubly attractive.

The only 'flaw' (if you want to call it that) I can find is that he doesn't look like a yearling.

I've seen 3yos without that much muscle.
Is this an example of a youngster who has been over-prepared, just to look great in the sales ring?

He was raised and consigned by Stonestreet, and they offer their new blood test guarantee.Wouldn’t any bisphosphonates or hormones appear?

I am shaking right now. Don’t know if he sold yet, but the American Pharoah out of Escampette just went for 1.3 million. I worked with him as a foal and him, his siblings, and his dam are my favorites. The farm sold him as a weanling, but I’m just so happy for him.

He went to M.V. Magnier and Sarah Kelley

His 2YO half-brother is in training with Bob Baffert right now and looks like a winner... I believe your colt is going to him as well, if I read the article right
