The number of mares bred to most of these stallions is really bad. I can't help but think Daredevil will be going back to Turkey, its not like he is making them much money breeding 41 mares. Apparently no one likes Union Rags anymore. I fully expected Accelerate and West Coast to have super low numbers. I'm surprised Honor Code got 38 mares. But on the other side I'm really surprised Tonalist got as many as he did(hasn't sired much outside of Country Grammer) and Liam's Map at 40k got 157 mares? I must be missing something there. Its not like he has had a superstar in his last couple crops and his best runner by far was an often injured turf horse.

I don't know why they even bother. They should have sold them for whatever people were willing to pay. Hence has never even bred a mare, they should geld him, find him a good home. Or should have just sold him, someone bid 42k on him. His value isn't increasing sitting in the stallion barn with 0 foals.

Honor Code at 38 surprised me, but HAP getting 39 hurts my heart. I don’t think LE would ever sell HC, but they would HAP

i think the sales atm aren't too good. i'm seeing the same with Tiz the Law. breeders aren't making good money out of selling their foals, so the numbers are bound to drop. the 3rd year is usually difficult in general either way. i know it's hard not to be upset (heck, i'm slightly upset about Tiz's drop and he got 130+), however maybe next year/2025 we will see a change if his foals do better than expected and they adjust his price.

I saw an article not that long ago, like in the past 2 months, and the author was talking about the overall problem with Kentucky stallions and how breeders go cold on stallions after their first year at stud. Before it was more wait until their foals get to the track but now breeders are really stopping using a lot of the stallions in their 2nd and 3rd years. Its rare for them to be able to maintain even remotely decent sized books through the years until the foals hit the tracks. I wish I remembered where I read the article but I read stuff on so many sites.

i think compared to the rest of his first yearlings crew, his numbers are unfortunately pretty mediocre right now. iirc the ½ to Kimari failed to reach 200k. but we'll see if the September sales make a difference for him and maybe even for Honor A.P.? and that article is very true - stallions just can no longer keep their books big and good until their foals are running. except if, you know, they're Grade 1 winners by Into Mischief
