Cinderella's Cause (Congrats × Myself) was euthanized October 28, 2024 at Cornell Ruffian Hospital due to "declining health." She was 6.

She had suffered biaxial sesamoid fractures during Race 5 at Aqueduct on October 19. She had a record of 38: 8-10-5 and earnings of $435,891 and won her previous start in September.

Aww, poor girl. I started following her career when I discovered her in the Wanamaker's Sale (Now Inglis Digital USA). RIP sweet girl <3

Wvcimen Stud in Turkey announced Nov. 10 the death of stallion Toccet. The cause of death is unknown. Toccet was 24.

Wesley Ward- trained Splattered has been confirmed as euthanized after a catastrophic breakdown at Churchill Downs. I can’t help but feel that name is cringe-worthy, and being she was a filly somehow made it even worse to me.

Freddymo Factor (The Factor × My Noble) was euthanized at Cornell Ruffian on 11/12/24 due to declining health. She was pulled up and vanned off in her last race in May. It sounds like, whatever happened, they spent a long time trying to save her. She won $189K in 48 starts, winning four times. Her dam is a ½ sister to Samraat. Freddymo Factor was 8.

She produced 17 foals, of which 14 starters and 11 winners; 4 graded stakes winners.

Amazingly the people were her safety for her and her cubs from the male bears. I have seen too many Boars kill cubs in Alaska. She was so intelligent. Sows can really rest when they are free from that worry but I get it. It is very tragic but her high success rate getting her cubs to young adulthood. The other side is that her cubs got way too relaxed around people.

I love following the Bears at Katmai it is so less invasive but we see the same bear families throughout their life.

not a racehorse obviously but i think she deserves a mention everywhere. Grizzly 399, famous for being the oldest female grizzly bear to give birth (at 28 years old) was hit by a car and passed away due to her injuries at Yellowstone National Park. i'm heartbroken. i loved following her on Instagram. rangers are currently looking for her yearling cub.

I was out at Grand Teton/Yellowstone last September and was hoping to see her. I had breakfast at the Bunnery in Jackson, and was seated next to a huge picture of her with the four cubs in-tow. I lost count how many people came up to take a picture of that picture because she was literally THAT much of an icon out there. What a damn shame to lose her that way.

2008 German Derby (G1) winner and sire Kamsin died suddenly June 2024. He won 3 G1 events total and stood in Germany, Ireland, and France. Kamsin was 19.

A social media post indicates Giant Trop died this month from heart failure at an equine hospital.

Starship Warpspeed, who died this year, leaves behind Lady Scuderia (Uncle Mo), an unraced 2-year-old filly who was purchased by John Stewart for $2.5 million at last year's Keeneland September sale, and a yearling colt by Gun Runner, who sold for $800,000 to Case Clay at this year's September sale.
