Yeah, unfortunately he was euthanized in 2012. He had developed laminitis after an injury he sustained in the Dominion Day S.Starine wrote:Thanks.mariasmon wrote:The 1/2 to She Be Wild was withdrawn. I saw her yesterday afternoon, so it must have been a late decision. Also withdrawn were the heavily advertised Foxy Danseur and her 2014 MDO filly, both of whom I photographed yesterday. If Up doesn't top now, I'm going to be surprised. Her 2014 War Front filly will likely also sell well.Starine wrote:Who got 143, the half to She Be Wild by Union Rags?
The other one I was interested in was the Lemon Drop Kid colt who is a half to Keertana, Snow Tap Mountain and Diversy Harbor; but I read he went to JSM Equine and will be resold later this year.
On a side note, do you know whatever happened to Evening Sky's half-brother, the nearly black Straight Story?

So um, Black Onyx sold for $7,500 to Stonewall Phoenix. That's damn cheap, but at least it looks like he'll be headed to KY.
I give them credit, though, for not just dropping him in for a tag to part with him. They could have set his reserve higher, but they must not have expected much either.

Winning Image sold to Calumet for $100k. Who do you think they'll pair her up with, someone on their roster I'd guess?

That was a steal for Winning Image.
And Black Onyx, wow, that's cheap. He is a really nice looking horse, and I think had some real talent. Unfortunately he got injured and never came back the same. Like BlindLucky said, at least they didn't drop him in for cheap.
I feel bad for poor Unbridled's Note. He has a lovely pedigree and a ton of speed, and I am surprised nobody wanted to spend a little more on him, even to export.
