It would have been 5 years ago. It’s a little like watching intramural sports. Baffert’s visit to CDI purgatory benefited Yakteen’s business when he didn’t screw those horses up and even picked up his first Santa Anita Derby with Taiba. Given that the race was for 2yo’s—who can change overnight—I found the result interesting but not overly surprising.

A $3,200,000 Saratoga colt by Into Mischief x an American Pharoah mare sold to Zedan has been named Barnes. I would consider that a sign of confidence if it weren't for Mirahmadi's struggles! His work tab features a bullet 5F in 58 flat from the gate.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I'll also be closely following runner-up Madaket Road.

Keep an eye on the first two finishers in race 6 T Del Mar on Sunday

The winner is very good - a Curlin colt named Journalism. He closed strongly to win by a few lengths

The runner up, Rank, is an out and out router. He ran well last time in his only other route (against a loose on the lead horse) and finished second here after being up close in essentially a duel with a fast Bob and a long shot.

BSF - 82 for J, 77 for Rank

US Timeform fig for both is 103x which is very strong. Rank’s pace figures are very fast

Really strong race

Been working at Santa Anita but is entered on the 27th at CHURCHILL DOWNS.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Does anybody think he's making his return to CD with an also-ran? (Although the best-laid plans of mice and men. . . and no fair googling the last 3 words!

5 1/2 furlongs will be the excuse if plans go awry.

At the racetrack, often going awry is known as Thursday, or Friday, or Saturday, or Sunday.

Does he have a stakes entry or something? I can see him shipping a maiden with another horse but not just a maiden...

"Awry" it isn't, in Burns' Scots. Try again.

Neither does it "go" :)
