I didn't post this back when it happened because I was waiting for the replay to be available. It became so today.

QUICK MASTER won a maiden hurdle at Aiken Steeplechase on November 18. His record over the jumps is now 3-1-1-0.

Well, it wasn't a win, but DRUM ROLL PLEASE finished a clear 3rd in the G2 Remsen today. He earned a few points into the KD in the process. Hard Spuns generally mature later, so I count this as a good omen that this colt may be something to look forward to in 2024. I think 1 1/8 miles is asking a lot of 2yos. Of course SOMEBODY has to win. There was a significent speed bias in play of which much was made by the pundents online. If so, the fact that he was one of only 2 closing from farther back speaks well of him.

OGALLALA won race #3 at Zia Park today, despite hanging on his left lead the entire stretch. What is wrong with these jockies not doing something about that? The horse is only 2 and still learning. Just his 5th start. You would think the jock would try to help the horse. They can never run as fast on their left lead and it almost cost him the win.

HECKLED finally broke her maiden in race #8 at Fair Grounds today after some close losses in 8 attempts at 6 different tracks. Blinkers added today and she got to the lead coming off the far turn and looked to be idling a bit out there until she got a taste of the whip once and boy did she take off! Easy win for her. She looked good doing it, too.

INFORMED PATRIOT finished 3rd in the Smarty Jones stakes at Oaklawn Park today. So he has 2 3rds in stakes races so far. He was third in the Street Sense earlier in the fall.

SHE'S MY NIECE won race #6 at Santa Anita yesterday by 9 1/2 lengths. Something sure finally clicked with her. Her record is now 9-1-4-0.

G3 winner SPARKLE BLUE (5 year old mare) had 2 recent workouts. Guessing she's coming back to race in 2024. Yay!

I wrongly assumed she would be retired and bred her this year. She's a half sister to G1 winner Shared Account.
