I think the Cartier Awards are based on a full campaign of Group races won throughout Europe, while the “crowning” achievement listed in that article is by having the highest rated juvenile performance as determined by the official handicapper in any given country.

Those “champions” as deemed by the handicapper seem only to be recognized by the stud farms that eventually stand the stallions. Coolmore does it all the time, I guess it is easy when there are two separate two year old champions in 2022 and they happen to own both of them.

Okay, I knew each country did their own highweight/champions, I didn't know they also did one for Europe. Idk how long this pdf on International Federation of Horse Racing will stay as the 2021 Champions/Highweights, but its kind of crazy just how many some countries have. Its strange though that the Cartier Awards don't seem to be on here, no European HOTY, no Champion 3yof, Trueshan isn't on the list at all under Europe list. He is highweight in France for 14f+. I've seen these used by stud farms and in auction catalogs.
https://www.tjcis.com/pdf/icsc22/EndMaterial2022.pdf <-- is pretty cool though cause has Champions/highweights for countries you just never hear about in the racing world.

Because its rare to see an article on racing from Czechia.

https://www.thoroughbredracing.com/arti ... ng-nation/

Since they talked about the Velká Pardubická so much in the article, I thought I'd go watch it and the course is really unique and beautiful. I don't watch much jumps racing though. I would have linked but too many horses fell and jockeys were getting ran over. Its on Youtube if you want to look for it yourself but that is my warning.

that race has been subject of controversy for many years now because of the amount of deaths that happen. it's way too dangerous imo. one jump has claimed 24 horses. this article says they'll be making it "safer" though https://english.radio.cz/czech-steeplec ... es-8719251

Those Emirates based horses can go forever when they only come out for 5 or 6 races between December and March. It’s fun to root for good old boys like Barbecue Eddie and Reynaldothewizard.

Would be big if she did.
She makes her debut on Monday at Punchestown.

Great! Its amazing to me that she transitioned so fast to hurdling. For some reason I always thought it would be a longer process.

It really is wild how fast some horses can take to it. Princess Zoe was already a known stayer on the flat, but you look at High Definition, whose last flat start was in the Cumberland Lodge over 12f on October 1, and he broke his maiden at 2 miles over hurdles December 26. He had run exclusively over 10f and 12f in 2022 without much to show for it, and finished 9th of 10 in the 2021 St Leger..: yet 2 miles over hurdles in a field in field of twenty seven… no problem

I wish him the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

JRA may not re-issue him a license to ride in Japan in the near term.
But I believe that the vast majority of the Japanese racegoers will welcome his return.

Andre Fabre introduced a really exciting unraced 3 year old filly by Camelot at Chantilly today called Poursee Du Jour .

She made a very impressive winning debut by 4 lengths she is a name to remember.
