The fact is, if she's sound for breeding, it's not "wrong" or "cruel" to breed her. It's doesn't make her owners greedy, it doesn't mean they're doing wrong by her. I imagine they put a crapton of money into saving her life, with zero guarantee that she'll have any more foals or that the foals she's had will ever earn any amount. With the money they've put into her, if their sole motivation was making money off of her... well they are doing it wrong.
I was just about to say the same thing. Every pregancy is a "risk" and there would be people that would argue that fact.

Just thought I'd post this as I found it on the Stonestreet Farm website:
Jess’s Dream now resides at Stonestreet’s Yearling Division in Versailles, KY. Yearling manager, Robert Turner, says, “He is very classy and has a lot of sense about himself. He has a big personality.”
I'd love to see some new photos of him and/or the Bernardini filly, haven't heard about her in a LONG time.

I don't blame them for not being as open anymore. They got a bunch of horrible messages earlier this year and probably still do. I guarantee there are ignorant people who heard from a friend of a friend that RA was dead and without checking facts, they would go and post something. I'm sure they got horrible phone calls as well. People are asshats, so IMO, it was inevitable that the updates would slow/end.
The same thing goes with the Mosses and Zenyatta. I saw a post that said(not exact words), "I can't believe you bred her this year when she almost died after delivering her last foal! You are greedy, blah blah blah".

Oh :/ Well they posted it yesterday, but I guess you can tell by the sunshine and the yellowish grass, it's winter now so no chance of sunny skies I'm afraid

First time I've seen that photo. The two mares look so relaxed that it relaxes me. :)

It's so nice to see fans getting an opportunity to see and touch Rachel. I treasure the pic of me with her in her stall at Saratoga even though I didn't reach out and touch her. I hope one day to have the opportunity to visit her at Stonestreet.

I don't think Rachel is really a sweetheart. I think she tolerates the visitors fairly politely most of the time, but would probably prefer to be left alone.

I tend to agree with mm. Of course, I'm just going by what I see in videos and photos but, judging by her posture, expression and ears, I don't think Rachel likes humans very much. Maybe her grooms...but strangers? Not so much.
Although, that last set of photos had more pix of her with her ears forward than I've ever seen before. Maybe she is finally beginning to relax and believe that the next set of humans isn't going to strap her into a saddle, throw a piece of metal in her mouth, shove her into a claustrophobic metal deathtrap or flag a whip past her eyes...after it has smacked her on the flanks.
And that's not even taking into account her painful, scary hospital visit(s). When you think about it, Rachel hasn't had what you could call a completely stress-free life...and she has plenty of reasons to worry about what humans might do to her.

I think this sums it up well, but she certainly appreciates a good forehead scratch haha.

In one of the many stories I read after the Woodward, Asmussen said that, unusual for him, he tried to give Rachel a hug sometime after the race -- and she was having none of it. She was, like, "What is wrong with you? We don't do that!"

This pretty much sums up what I've seen of her several times in person, both on the backstretch and a few visits to Stonestreet post retirement. You do what you need to with her and then move on. She may toss in a nip or two to move you along but she's not mean, just all business. None of that touchy feely stuff for Her Highness. :D

I'm thinking not, that they will give her a year off until she is bred again(if ever), pending a all clear from the docs. And, if she is bred again, expect a huge backlash from trolls and Petards.

I wouldn't be surprised if they announced her being bred two weeks after the foal is born :P
