Mrh has decided to geld Secret Crush. Most people are in agreement with the decision. I have seen some people who are complaining he's being gelded too early and "we are ruining his future stud career".

The horse has good bloodlines but nobody is going to be lining up to breed to a 3 year old horse who's lightly raced and hasn't broken his maiden or run a stakes race

I rarely agree with that mob, but it’s hard to argue that gelding him won’t ruin his future stud career.

I wouldn't be surprised though if Secret Crush makes his next start, if he makes it back to the track, in a maiden claiming race due to how much money he has cost due to various health reasons.

What’s the old saying, if you want to make a small fortune in horse racing, start with a large one? It’s the one business where it’s common to buy high and sell low.

Besides the legitimate excuse Hero Status has the general opinion is he just doesn't like Keeneland. It's undetermined if he will run next month at Churchill downs or wait until fair grounds and run there since they allow lasix in stakes races. Lots of people are calling for mrh to retire him

Any reports on what happened with STG yesterday in the Dirt Mike ? Hope he is ok post-race. I thought he looked a bit lethargic pre-race but he is such a laid back horse maybe that is just him.

I think the pace was just too fast for him to get the position he prefers. They said he got the stalking position he wanted but he had to really work to keep up with the pace and just didnt have anything left for the closing kick

He cooled out fine but we havent had any update today
