White 2021. filly Blanchir (New Year's Day - Marble Cake) has made three starts; her best finish is a third. She is Buchiko's niece.

https://m.facebook.com/Colourbreds/vide ... 347493332/

Sodashi's white 2021. 1/2 brother Kalpa (Maurice - Buchiko) was third in his fourth start recently. He has two thirds in four starts.

7 y/o white GSW Hayayakko (King Kamehameha - Marshmallow) was second in the G3 Chunichi Shimbun Hai. He is still an entire, can't believe he's seven!

I would LOVE to see one of their white stallions get a chance at stud. I mean, it's great that they are almost guaranteed second careers, but it would be fun to see a pasture filled with lots of flashy little babies!

I wouldn't be mad if Hayayakko went to stud. I have come across horses that have done less than he has that have somehow gotten stalls at the Japanese equivalent of regional farms, or maybe they won a single G2. He is a G3W on turf and dirt and that family, regardless of their coloring, is constantly churning out winners and stakes horses. Plus, he's been consistent through age 7 and is closely related to Sodashi.

Nah they'll never put him to stud unless he wins a G1. They have had many white families there and chose to continue through mares primarily. They try to keep their stallion list only for top performing thoroughbreds, you won't see many non-G1 winners standing there. Kalpa or Amante Bianco are two white colts that might go to stud after they retire but they yet have to prove their potential.

Yamakatsu Leon (Speilberg - Yamakatsu Majalis) has a fascinating face marking. Unfortunately he wears blinkers in most photos.
https://en.netkeiba.com/db/horse/2017103384/

He races on NAR tracks and has a pretty good record of 14: 10-2-0. His grandmother Yamakatsu Suzuran (Jade Robbery) was a JRA champion.

2021 filly Rumint (Munnings - Humint, by Mutakddim) has some "rabicano" coloration with a big blaze. Won race 6 at Aqueduct yesterday!

What color is this horse? Just a grey? Something else? He does look like he is brindle but I doubt it. Just a really interesting greying out?

The pattern distribution does not seem too dense so I'd rule out chimeric brindle but his coat shade makes it difficult to track the pattern. It has nothing to do with his gray gene. Might be a pigmentation glitch in his genetics. But we'll see what's underneath as he grays out for sure! :)

This is not chimeric as suggested
Only 3 or 4 horses have EVER been confirmed chimera so it should always be the very last option considered when anything and everything else colour related is ruled out.

That said - this is not that uncommon. Would be considered skewed grey with the colour skewed along the lines of blaschko. It happens with grey, roan, extreme dun factor, LP (leopard complex) etc.
As the horse greys it will lose that appearance.

What if, on the other hand, the pattern will not gray out? Couldn't it be darker shade underneath the gray?

Image

I would imagine him looking like this, just dark brown instead of white pattern?

He will grey out. he's not the only grey to look like that and they all eventually do loose the colour.
The horse you posted is not grey, and an example of likely white markings that did not migrate properly in utero. There's a number around like that one, and the markings still get skewed along those lines of blashcko.

Spotty white horse Shironii, who is now a track pony, watching a race unfold on the big screen.

The son of white mare Shirayukihime and King Kamehameha is a SW and 9x stakes-placed. He won 4x from 42 starts.

Cronos Heart (Clearly Now - Tambourine Queen) has an almost perfect heart forehead marking. He also looks true black.

Sweep Feet is also very well bred, being a granddaughter of champion Sweep Tosho.
