Roger Rodas, the driver, was a co-owner of Always Evolving Performance with Paul Walker. They raced cars together. They were probably trying out their shop's newest car and something terrible happened. RIP to both of them.

Australian stayer Salon Soldier, imported from Germany earlier this year, died today from a ruptured cecum, an extremely rare condition. Too bad it had to be him (not that it is anything one would wish any other horse)....

While it's always sad to lose one of your horses, the farm should take comfort in knowing that she did live to nearly her 30th birthday...a good, long, well-loved life.

Testament to their loving care of her, they all should be so lucky.

Jwala actually was the victim of terrible riding from the jockeys of other horses who crowded her, caused her to fall, and suffer tragic injuries to her neck. Sadly, not one of the Jockeys was held accountable and I find that disgusting

It would have been a nice retirement party if they ran her at home. Hong Kong, please.

Another fan of Driven by Solar. RIP.
100k this year not enough.

Not a fan of trainer Toscano. Another bottom-level feeder.
Re-claimed DBS from Jacobsen before last race...another low-life trainer. NYRA likes this...low-life... becasue he "fills" all these claiming races at NYRA...often has 2/3 in same race. Leopards never change their spots.

Read an article that Toscano claimed bankruptcy a few years back and horses were not in good shape. One TB of Toscano's showed up at an auction in LI for antique cars, etc. Was part of bankruptcy hearing, I believe. Some man who never had a horse  bought the TB. Forget the name. Paid 10k.

Everytime I read this thread and see a familiar old warhouse breakdown...I think about quitting this sport.

Don't. If all the people who do care went away, things would only get worse.

Multiple stakes winner and sire Basket Weave went to sleep and never woke up last week. He was 32. He spent his last years at Buzz and Kathie Kings farm in central Wa where he was treated like royalty.
