The stewards have awarded the win to Campanelle! Good on them for doing the right thing.

they put the ward horse up - shame it happened like it did - both horses ran so wonderfully - race did not deserve a loser - but... the ward horse was bothered a couple of times.

I think this was the right decision but I still hate it for Archie Watson and Dragon Symbol is a sure nice horse
I love his color gray. He still has a "blaze"

yeah i feel bad for the horse and trainer who got the DQ - but the interference to me was significant - sorry to see it happen - but the stewards did make the right call.

Oisin Murphy bounces back and wins the Coronation stakes on Alcohol Free. Snow Lantern was 2nd after a ride I am sure Sean Levey would like a do-over on. He didn't produce her until the last 5 strides.

Interesting silks on Sandringham winner Create Belief (Awtaad).

Apparently it's a large ownership group, so the silks' many shapes and colors seem appropriate.

Oisin Murphey wins the Duke of Edinburgh on Quickthorn, but he repeated his veering-across-the-course Commonwealth ride. Not quite as bad as the Commonwealth, but he seems to use that as a tactic to push his competition out of the way.

It is a similar framework as MyRaceHorse in the US with microshares. It was spearheaded by Qatar Racing's Sheikh Fahad.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 12:36 pm Apparently it's a large ownership group, so the silks' many shapes and colors seem appropriate.

They also own jumps horses as well and were 2nd in the Grand National this year with Balko Des Flos. For a very small roster right now (4 horses total), they've already had a great debut season. They weren't warmly received by the UK/Irish Industry though, a lot of people were up in arms about the structure of microshares... something we've discussed on this forum plenty.

i noticed when he was crossing the wire in the coronation stakes, oisin murphy stuck his tongue out at the camera's - no one on the msnbc broadcast mentioned it - - but not really liking this guy with his tactics on the course. - from what i have seen of him today, not a fan.

I figured when de Sousa, who has ridden at tracks all over the world, raised such a public stink about the incident that it was a pretty bad (as well as avoidable) screw-up.

Why are certain races in the UK restricted to only intact males and fillies? Why can't geldings run?

That's true of the Arc, as well. I'm under the impression that certain Euro classics are meant to be tests of possible future stallions & broodmares. Geldings aren't breeding stock, so I guess that those who determine the rules believe that how geldings might fare in them is irrelevant to the sport.
