It looks like Rachel's legacy comes down to a Curlin colt and a Bernardini filly.
I'd been a little underwhelmed by Curlin's offspring until this last year; Palace Malice and Ride On Curlin give me hope that Jess's Dream might be a decent racehorse.
I don't believe Bernardini's fillies have been great on the track...yet...although they have been bringing big bucks at the auctions. We can be pretty sure that Rachel's daughter is not headed for an auction, unless Barbara suddenly exits the breeding business. The jury is out on whether the A.P. Indy stallion will turn out to be a good broodmare sire.
I wish Rachel's last breeding had been to Tapit (if the nick is good)...his fillies are fabulous, and they are clearly prized as broodmares. I mean, has anyone counted how many stakes-winning daughters of Tapit were scooped up by the Japanese? :o

Rachel doesn't need to have any foals. History will not forget her. I doubt she could foal a better filly than herself. Most horses don't reproduce anything nearly as good as themselves. What she did, how she did it, and when she did it -- is already in the history books and will not soon be forgotten.

No question about that, Anne, but when I said "legacy," I meant insofar as her genetics being passed on. Perhaps I should have been more specific.

No probs, I understood what you meant. And I wasn't disagreeing as much as saying how I felt about her. I don't much care about her career as a Mom, nothing will top her as a 3 yr old filly. RA was the first horse I cried over watching run in the Oaks and then the Preakness. I can't imagine BB not erring on the side of caution with her life. IMO (and I know most disagree.), they pushed her to far in racing -- I hope that's not the case in her 2nd career.

I went on Twitter to see if I could find anything under 'Jess's Dream' but all I got were tweets saying stuff like 'Triple Crown drought will end next year with either Jess's Dream or Cozmic One' and at first I found this pretty laughable but then I thought...

Well Jess's Dream already has a workout, it's likely he'll start this year. If he lives up to his royal pedigree then he has 2 winners of the Preakness in his pedigree and his sire not only came 3rd in the Derby and 2nd in the Belmont but he already sired a Belmont winner who is also speedy enough to win at a mlie in a super fast time!

Of course we don't know how good this horse may be but if he inherits his parent's talents, he has the pedigree to do it :D But alas I personally think just because a horse wins the Derby, he doesn't HAVE to go for the whole Triple. Or a horse could skip the Derby in favour of the very rich and much shorter Preakness etc.

Stonestreet Training Center in Summerfield, Florida. Ian Brennan is the head trainer there. Here's an article on him (and Coz) from late March:

Thanks, WD.

Gosh, I hope they don't send him to TP.

Well it sure as well won't be Asmussen... and all of Stonestreet's first-stringers appear to be with TAP - I would say TAP is the obvious choice for them

He looks very balanced and filled out already, I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him start at 2.

Look at that booty!

I was JUST looking for new pics of her the other day. These are amazing. Jeez, she looks so nice.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

Do you think the other fillies in the pasture resent her because she's never gone through an 'awkward growth spurt' phase? :P
Just too pretty.
