Dreaming of Julia's little brother, Atreides, destroyed the field in the Gulfstream Park Monarchos Stakes. He won by 17 1/2 lengths.

He looks like a nice colt. Will be interesting where they go from here with him. He is 3 for 3.

Got a chance to drive over to Gulfstream and see him run for the second time today - he really is a beautiful horse.CoronadosQuest wrote:Dreaming of Julia's little brother, Atreides, destroyed the field in the Gulfstream Park Monarchos Stakes. He won by 17 1/2 lengths.

A few of Gulfstream horses that popped up after the big barns went north (Fast Anna, Little Alexis) have run really well in big races with relatively light seasoning. It'll be interesting to see where they go with this horse, who is simply outclassing his rivals down there.

They really separated themselves from the field. That was nice to see!tachyon wrote:Tap That(JPN), 2012C. Tapit(USA) x Art Princess(USA)(1/2 to Zazu), won in his debut impressively going 1700m dirt Newcomer Sapporo 5R on August 31st.

Congrats on your filly placing at first asking!BlindLucky wrote:Whew! After she broke through the gate while they were loading, I was sure she was done for. But she had the lead until late stretch and stayed on for 2ndBlindLucky wrote:I'm nervously awaiting our filly's debut today in race 8 at Belterra. Storm Bank is a 3 yr old filly by Stormy Atlantic out of Bankstriss, who is a half-sister to Left Bank. She's pretty gigantic, so they've taken their time with her. She'll probably end up on turf at Churchill this fall, but for now she just needs a race.
So now that I mention this, she'll totally tank today I'm sure

She ended up finishing 4th? I'm surprised because she looked very uncomfortable on the track. I'm not sure how good a race this was....... I just saw that the 6 furlong fraction was 1:12 and change, which seems kind of slow. That said, LS is a lean, elegant filly who had a bad post for a debut and so certainly she should improve next out.mariasmon wrote:She was 4th. Speaking of Honor Code, is he still around? Has he been retired?
