He is sacred because he is "well-bred", therefore he belongs at a big name track. How could he possibly have ended up there?

Her produce record for colts is not great. There really isn't any value in them *unless* they can run.

Trainer is Mike Puhich, who is the trainer/director of Pegasus Training, and has spent most of his career at Longacres/Emerald. He is often connected with Hollendorfer and Troy Taylor at Hastings. It's not like the horse is with Joe Blow Nobody.

The ownership, Do You Miss It Stable, has at least one other Midnight Lute unraced colt that I'm pretty sure is at Emerald Downs now, West Coast Wheelie. This one's been working in California and Midnight Lou worked at Los Al for his first work. Both colts were bred by Mike Pegram and weren't sold at auction.

It's not uncommon for well-bred young horses who may have spent some time at Pegasus to begin their careers at EMD. I think the stable is new, at least I don't recognize the name and there's no history in Equibase.

Yeah, I felt just a bit insulted too ;) We do get some nicely bred horses at Emerald and Hastings, although not usually running first out for a $7,500 claim. I made some nice money last weekend betting on a pretty little Curlin filly out of a Broad Brush mare. Some of these kids just aren't fast enough for the big time, but do well at our tracks.

Isn't Pegasus Training where Shared Belief is spending his sabbatical?

Yes, that is the same place. It's actually called Pegasus Training and Equine Rehabilitation Center. And it's a quite amazing place! We got to meet Blind Luck while she was there.

Thank you. I don't know if she meant to be insulting, but Emerald (and Hastings) have some really good racing, some really good horsemen, and some really good riders.
Maybe Midnight Lou's legs are on backwards, I don't know. But he also may just fit the racing at Emerald better. Puhich is a pretty sharp horseman, he runs them where they belong.

4th. Per Craig Bernick:

"Chiropractor was 4th. Named him after about 100 treatments for his back & hind end. Glad he made it to races Hope he improves next time."

Finnegan (Unbridled’s Song—Untouched Talent), a half to Bodemeister, won the 1st at Pimlico today nicely for Coolmore and Wesley Ward to break his maiden by about 6 lengths. Looks like he may be headed to Ascot.

Also debuting on Friday is Midnight Lou (Midnight Lute x Silverbulletday 2012). He'll be in R2 at Emerald, $10K MCL.
Good Genes was 2nd. Midnight Lou was scratched from today's race and entered in another MCL on Sunday at EMD.
Midnight Lou was 4th.

And he was claimed for $7,500.

Edit: They even scratched him from a $10k claimer and dropped him into a $7500.
That's what I was getting at- I meant no disrespect- there are good and bad at all places.

Sorry- didn't mean to offend- maybe I should have worded it a bit better. I admit I don't know much about the track and the connections over there- thanks for the education.

I am learning more and more each day in doing the Emerald contest, and have actually found some horses that I know that have raced at SA and GG. It is good to find horses that you have followed in the past- it's like being reunited with old friends.

Get Out of Town, by Unbridled's Song, and a half brother to MSW His Race To Win, from the No Class female family, FINALLY broke his maiden at Finger Lakes, Race 1.
Took him 5 tries. He is bred by Sam-Son, but they have sold him privately to his current owners.
