It was great to see Madefromlucky(USA), 2012C. Lookin At Lucky(USA) x Home From Oz(USA), win the G2 Peter Pan at Belmont on May 9th 2015.
Home From Oz(USA) is a full to Tapit(USA) and a 1/2 to Japan-based Pisa no Tiffany(USA)(by Fupeg).

Madefromlucky's 1/2 brother A Shin Gold(USA)(by MDO), a stakes winner in Japan, died sadly last year due to injury.
I will be pulling for Madefromlucky.

My Sweet Addiction upset Warren's Veneda in the Vanity. She's a daughter of grade I winners Tiznow and Healthy Addiction.

Also today Wedding Toast won the Ruffian -- she's by Street Sense out of a half-sister to Congaree.

Go Between died of a heart attack after a workout in early 2009.

Good Genes was 2nd. Midnight Lou was scratched from today's race and entered in another MCL on Sunday at EMD.

Silverbulletday apparently continues her record of producing nothing--at least in the first generation.

Samantha Nicole, 4yo full sister to Rachel Alexandra, finished a lackluster 3rd in the 2nd at Pimlico today. I know her connections would love to get some black type for this filly, but it does not look likely at this point.

How did a horse with that type of breeding end up there? Wonder if there was some kind of glaring conformation defect or did not vet out properly? Or just because she hasn't produced anything of note?

That's a little ignorant. Well-bred horses are scattered throughout North America and the world. Although Emerald is not a Belmont or Santa Anita, there are still good horsemen there. For example, a lot of Godolphin/Darley outcasts are sold to Swift Tbs. at Hastings Park (Emerald's sister track). They do a good job with them. Just because they aren't champions like their parents, doesn't mean careers need to stop. What would be the preferred career path for the horse? Stallion? riding horse?
He might have nothing physically wrong with him. He might just be slow.

I think SS's comment was in reference to an intact colt with that breeding debuting in a $7500 claimer at a lower tier track. Maybe he's slow, but they've never raced him and are trying him first out in a low level MCL.

Edit: They even scratched him from a $10k claimer and dropped him into a $7500.

If he was worth more...he would be running for more.
JUST because the horse is at Emerald, doesn't mean it's crippled or crooked. An intact colt with that pedigree certainly doesn't mean it should be kept intact.

If it's his first start, could we not assume the trainer thinks the horse belongs at that level?
