...is it wrong that I kind of hope they could match him up with Buchiko? Can you just imagine the foal...?

It looks like Keen Pauline has a white stripe on her foreleg that doesn't have a sock.

Pearl Secret finally won a group contest at age six when he took the Temple Stakes (gr. II) today.

He has a remarkable amount of white on him including some on his belly.

If Buchiko is also a frame, you have 1/4 less chance of having a live foal. Frame is a lethal gene. In double dose, the foal is resorbed very early. Only 3 out of 4 foals would survive until birth.

Oh you'd definitely want/need to do DNA testing first, you're right... you'd want to know if the dominant white is covering up the gene for frame overo, just to be safe.

I had Appaloosas. You have to learn a lot about color with them.

I had a very crabby POA pony mare (varnish roan so not a pretty blanket, boo) and later a chestnut sabino Arabian gelding. 8-)

Not a horse, but still pretty cool: a white-faced fawn.

She's a lovely little creature, especially with those blue eyes. She wouldn't stand the proverbial snowball's-chance-in-hell to survive in the wild, so it's nice that she's going to be a pampered farm pet.

Yowza, that's an extreme palomino! I was gonna say he looked more flaxen than anything because of it, but yep -- Glitter Please three generations back. What a looker.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!

I saw the race, and I thought he looked like he was carrying a bit too much weight. Didn't have much speed, but did stay on to pick up a place or two. Maybe he'll improve off this first race.
He's very handsome and, with that spectacular color, maybe he has a future as a Sporthorse stallion? There seems to be a healthy market for colored sport horses.

Both of his parents are unraced, and he doesn't really come from racing stock. I'm curious to see if he ever develops the speed for it, but he'd probably make a nice sporthorse, for sure.
