No way! So a mare RNA's for $2.7 million and he sells for just $350,000?! Weird though I guess there is more value in the mareBlindLucky wrote:Nope, his sale went through.carole wrote:Session ends with Boisterous (Hip 197) selling for just $350,000, I suspect he'll RNA.

I don't understand. John had her from the beginning and her racing never really developed. Now someone else owns her and she will stay with John and race. So the original owner wasn't really interested in racing her? I'm happy she will remain with John but I don't get it. If she wasn't into racing with the other owner why would things change?starrydreamer wrote:Nice! Ian Banwell is the breeder and owner of Mr Commons, among others. Also, what is the difference between an "Out" and an "RNA"?

Thanks amfuller for that link! She's still a looker - even trying to pee she's pretty lol!
I was surprised that Boisterous only went for 350K...then to hear Afleeting Lady RNA'd at 2.7 million... What a crazy business this is.

Her racing developed pretty much as was expected before her Shuvee incident. Also with the fact that her owner died it was expected that she would be put on the back burner Mr. Kronfield's family until they could sell her. With her family being notoriously slow to develop + Mr. Kronfield's passing + cracking her tooth in the Shuvee = she isn't going to be getting many headlinesEquineAnne wrote:I don't understand. Anyone have a guesstimate on when GROUPIE DOLL will go through the KEE auction tomorrow? 'Cuz I wanna cry along with Buff.

So close to being retired. I am still surprised she remains in training. I hope she has a much better season next year than this year...mariasmon wrote:Craig Band or off was underbidder.BornToWin wrote:Anyone know who was bidding on Ebbie? She sure is lovely and alert.
Once upon a time there was a horse named Kelso.

It did confuse me at first because I googled the last name as Band and got nothing. Then it clicked. Bandoroff. Denali. Ahhh.mariasmon wrote:Ooops. My phone autocorrected Bandoroff to Band or off

And hoping that they'll stay here... It's not that I worry about their safety, it's mainly that it's just so much harder to follow their offspring.second_glance wrote:<shrug> Always sad to see a horse I've followed and loved leave the track.dustino140 wrote:Please tell me you're kidding.second_glance wrote:Anyone have a guesstimate on when GROUPIE DOLL will go through the KEE auction tomorrow? Of all the ones who've gone to Japanese buyers so far, I'm primarily bummed about Awesome Feather, although I know she'll be very well looked after in Japan.
As for Groupie Doll, I do hope one of the many top buyers who race/breed in the US will see fit to add her to their broodmare band. I know all the biggies have looked at her, including Mandy Pope and Marie Jones.
Not that her Fasig Tipton purchases were insignificant, but I noticed Mandy didn't buy anything during the first Keeneland session. Neither did the Joneses, for that matter. Perhaps there's something during Wednesday's session they really want. In addition to Groupie Doll, there's also Summer Soiree and Daisy Devine, plus Star Billing, who could easily top the session. She's packing that combo of pedigree/looks/race record that's hard to beat (a la Love and Pride).
I also think Arena Elvira is a very nice offering, but I doubt she has a chance to top. And Zoftig is as desirable to me as any mare. She's a G1W who's already produced 1 G1Ws. The only knock on her is that she's 15.
