I just hope she stays in the US. Her dam, Snowflake, went to Japan, gave birth, and hasn't produced anything since. Anyone know if she died?

Only two mares in foal to War Front in the sale - Upperline and Ask the Moon (hip 288).
She's had foals every year since she was exported except for 2010. She had a colt by Aragorn named Eldarion in '09; didn't have a foal in '10; had a filly by Storming Home named Telluride in '11; had an unnamed colt by Storming Home in '12 and had a filly by Admire Moon this year.
Oh, thanks! I should have known to ask you or Tachyon. Glad to hear she's doing well.

And as for Eblouissante now being listed as a broodmare or racing prospect, well... nevermind about the speculation.

Phipps are culling alot. Salute just had 2 yr old Mr Speaker win a MSW 1 1/16 on turf at Belmont yesterday...wire to wire! :o Well, they (Phipps) sold Supercharger in foal and Winstar had another Derby winner w/ SS.

I guess Boisterous plays third fiddle to POE...so he must go to.

They usually cull a few mares out of their broodmare band each year, last year was an exception.

The only stallion, in my lifetime, that I know they kept full ownership of was Easy Goer. The rest are sold or syndicated. That is not saying that they don't keep some seasons or a percentage of the horse. Miner's Mark was owned by a partnership when he first went to stud. I read somewhere that they tried to get him a stud deal but no one wanted a turf router. He can still be an out, he could get a stud deal, but if no US farm wants him, he will go somewhere that does. But I would love to see him stay here.

As for Salute, its sad to see them sell her.

My Flag is getting up there in terms of how many foals she might have left in her. How many more daughters of Personal Ensign do they own? What about her Forest Wildcat mare (who's name I cannot remember at the moment?)

My Flag and Salute were the last two owned by the Phipps. Her three other daughters have been sold in the past. She didn't have any foals by Forest Wildcat. Heavenly Prize had a Forest Wildcat filly named Flash By. She isn't owned by the family any longer.

Personal Ensign did have a Forest Wildcat colt in 2006, but he died as a yearling.

Just noticed that Stanwyck has been removed from the sale. She is listed as OUT now. Wonder if something happened or if they just decided not to sell her after her last win.

Tranquility Lake also listed as an out. Usually Fasig-Tipton has the best of the best, but this year, I think Keeneland has more star power than FT

And her 2010 foal Symmetrical by UBS is also in the sale- as a broodmare prospect only- Hip # 2136. I seem to remember seeing a few works for her- so I guess that didn't work out. Last sold at FTOCT 2011 for $210K to Adena Springs

And, from the same family- Double's Partner is in as a racing/stallion prospect- Hip #2797
Pure Symmetry is now listed as an out. Was looking at the updates under Doubles Partner, and apparently, Colorful Score Serena's '04 Storm Cat son, was third in a race at JEB on the first- his races are few and far between- but kudos to the owner for sticking with him.

Colourful Score (2004 c. by Storm Cat). Unplaced in 2 starts, in
. . England; winner at 6, placed at 9, 2013, in United Arab Emirates.

Self Preservation to Paca Paca. I'm glad they're doing some buying, they seem to have such a sense of humor and they are big time into social media. Lots of pictures :D

So is she going to Mandy Pope or Japan? A sale price like that seems to mean one or the other. Whoever gets her sure is lucky.

Snow Fall sold for $735,000 to Don Alberto Corp from Chile, which recently bought Vinery's Kentucky farm. Bodes well for tomorrow's sale of Upperline, her more successful half sister that is in foal to War Front.

The $800,000 War Front x Treasure Trail colt went to Coolmore, not surprisingly.

I wondered who that was. They bought several nice mares last night and today.

Oh wow. My guess of Mandy Pope or Japanese interests was totally off. Coolmore doesn't seem to buy too many broodmares (maybe they do, and I just don't pay attention), but I guess Awesome Maria is a pretty outstanding prospect.

I'm sick and want to take a nap, but I want to see Eblouissante go through the ring (she's hip 130).
