Is he her first foal?

And speaking of, there's another Havre de Grace listed on Pedigree Query (foaled 2014)... I know there are rules about re-using names, and maybe seven years between them meets the criteria, but... HDG (2007) just seems like she would be a "bigger name" than that, in terms of legacy.

*shrug* I dunno, I guess I just feel like she deserves a longer wait-period than that. But that's my pet peeve, I suppose. :-p

The sire and dam both reside in France. If that name is correct, The Jockey Club has nothing to do with it, and it is not prohibited (not on the International list of protected names). The name could not be reused for a Jockey Club-registered foal, however.

No she had a grey Tapit filly last year. You can probably find some pics if you google Tapit Havre de Grace filly (it pulls up some other pics but she is there. She was born a chestnut but was greying out fast.
Here is the International List of Protected Names. The rules are at the top, it used to be Champions but now its just winners of certain races.

Huh, I saw that the dam raced in France, so the international rule/s for naming would make sense then (sadly it seems the dam died shortly after foaling). Thank you Flanders & luvthesales for helping clear that up.

If Mandy Pope sticks to the game plan she had when she bought Grace, then her Tapit filly will be selling this year. From the few photos I've seen, the filly looked to have a lot of promise. They can change so much, though, so you never know. I'm hoping she's been growing the right way and shows up in a sale with a great physical and clean x-rays. There will be lots of fireworks if that is the case. ;-)

Curren Chan, very popular mare, was the two-time JRA champion -- champion sprinter in 2011 and champion older female in 2012.
