Vegas No Show was claimed today for the second straight time. This time for only $10K. He hasn't won a race since 2013. Worried about him.

Very excited to see Hard Not to Like back in stakes action this coming Saturday at Tampa Bay. She hasn't raced since her win in the Jenny Wiley at Keeneland last spring. Since then she was sold to new connections and has a new trainer..Christophe Clement. She is entered in the Lambholm South Endeavour S. (Grade 3) at 1 1/16 miles on the turf.

Hard Not to Like finished first in the Endeavour S. (Grade 3) at Gulfstream on Jan 31, but placed second due to a DQ for veering out during the stretch run. Darn shame. I doubt the other horse would have passed her. Appeared that Hard Not to Like shied at something. She came out very sharply.

But good run for her after such a long layoff.

Hard Not to Like veered out to follow the mowing tracks that merge from the inner turf chute into the main turf coarse. This is an odd thing at Tampa Bay Downs the way the mower tracks merge like that. Rosemary Homiester races there often and said that those mower tracks causes horses veer out because they are trying to follow the tracks which they normally do around the track. But the tracks veer outward at the point where the inner turf chute merges into the main turf course. There were so may comments about it in prior years that I figured Tampa Bay Downs would have fixed it.

I am sure it's the track marks that caused her to veer out. You could see other horses doing it too and they weren't anywhere near her. And you could see it at other turf races at Tampa Bay Downs too. That's a shame - because the track's mowing method possibly caused the winner to lose this race. We'll never know, maybe the was going to come in 2nd anyway. But the track mower marks messed up the darn outcome of a grades stakes race.

Thanks for that explanation That really is a shame. HNTL doesn't have a history of veering out like that, so it had to be something causing her to do that. Both commentators on TVG didn't think the other horse would have passed her. Tough loss and lucky break for the other horse.
