The well-named Chappy made a very strong stretch run to win in a $25,000 claimer.
Maybe he now moves up to allowance company.
Smartified was claimed for $7,500 by trainer Eduardo Rodriguez.
Irish Smarty (on a two-race win streak) has been missing starts do to frozen track at Philly Park.
Is Nasa our best three-year-old this year?

Genuine Jones could be a good one.
(going second at Fair Grounds 1/16)
Very speedy.

In a field of six the jockey of Genuine Jones found traffic trouble not once but twice and lost all chance.
Then, he was heavy with the whip down the stretch.
Very bad experience for the animal.
With a better ride I think Genuine Jones would have won.

I saw the race-it looked like those horses were too close and Genuine Jones' jockey should have objected!!! Just glad Genuine Jones is OK!!!!!onecalicocat wrote:In a field of six the jockey of Genuine Jones found traffic trouble not once but twice and lost all chance.

After winning her third straight race with a very fast 1:35+ mile clocking on the turf, J. L.'s Princess was unsaddled on the backstretch and vanned off."
To run that fast is a huge effort physically for a horse of that caliber — probably just did too much beyond her realistic limits.
(the saddest example of that is Ruffian)

The trainer of Genuine Jones is Joe Sharp, a young guy who is married to Rosie Napravnik.
The jockey for Genuine Jones is a European rider who apparently just came over to the US.
As I said in a previous post, I thought Genuine Jones could have won with a better ride.
In a six-horse field you are not supposed to get into traffic trouble.
If you have the best horse, take the outside route.
