Here's one more Dabirsim colt (foaled 01/25), also bred by Gestut Karlshof.
This one is out of Kolosseum, a full sister to German Derby winner Kamsin.

I'm so glad that Dabirsim, one of the greatest grandsons of Sunday Silence, settled well in Germany! :D

Our mares always roll as soon as they can when they're first turned out after foaling. Also, it's good for them to do so (which is probably why they do it) because it naturally repositions the organs that have been pushed out of place by having the foal take up so much room. A dirty mare is a good thing. :)

Yep, and a heavily pregnant mare will often roll to assist the foal into the proper birthing position. I would think that when they rotate in utero, cant be comfortable for the mare and it may help with the pain?
