his neck looks a little bit thin but he's still filling out, i think? it's also not a pro-set up confo shot, so those two things playing together probably throw it off some. but i see what you're seeing. very looking forward to the official shot.

I think he looks better if you ignore his neck and head.. for some reason it just doesn't fit is body in my opinion, maybe it's just the picture.

He's still filling out.

King Kamehameha looks better there than his official pic (whichever one is on BH's site, it may be outdated). He looks like a VERY fine hoss in that photo.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

I really, really hope they end up sending Gentildonna to King Kamehameha. 8-)

:D
I would guess that that is going to be a very tough call.
Handsome King Kamehameha is a highly-proven stallion and arguably the most reliable sire from the Kingmambo-line Japan really respects.
So if one wants to be sure as much as possible that she will produce her first black-type winner, King Kamehameha must be the logical choice.
But if one can be a bit more adventurous, dreaming of a real world-beater, Harbinger may come to mind.
He is not yet proven. But the sky can be the limit for the young stallion. And his first crop (2yos) o/o Sunday Silence line mares have been doing pretty well.
King Kamehameha's best progeny Lord Kanaloa is not o/o a Sunday Silence mare but a Storm Cat mare, etc, etc..
My pick is Harbinger.
But again, this has to be a tough choice.
Both will be good!

I'd say go proven (King Kamehameha) first, then see how Harbinger is doing. There is always the year after.

Harbringer won leading freshman sire this year and it is felt his progeny should improve with age.

Yes, I know that. But I would consider King Kamehameha the more proven of the two.

Neat how some horses literally change complete color from bay/light brown to almost black with their winter coats.

Elegant-looking horse, but...he's 10 and just now being retired to stud? Guess no one can say this guy was rushed off to the shed while still a youngster. ;)
Is that a bandage covering his left rear fetlock?

Yes, I agree!
Ceres Hunt is an elegant-looking horse! :D

He may not have been a super horse.
But thank to his long and consistent racing career, he had a lot of fans followings. ;)
Now Ceres Hunt fans are very glad that he becomes a stallion.
Forty Niner lines are very popular in Japan and he will be the only Coronado's Quest son to stand at stud in Japan.
We all hope that he will enjoy a long and happy stud life!!

Those fetlocks look hard raced, and what is going on with his right hind from the hock upwards? Or is it a weird shadow?

Looks like bucked shins. He's cute. Nothing makes me go WOW though.
Once upon a time there was a horse named Kelso.

There is definitely some enlargement around those ankles and shins, but since he's not racing, who cares. He looks like he has put on some weight and grown a bit. I think he looks like a pet. How big is he?
