Play Pretty (Indian Charlie x Oatsee) broke her maiden today at LRL in try #3, by open lengths. Not a particularly fast time for the 1/2 sister to Shackleford, et. al., but they appeared to be deliberately trying to set a slow pace on the lead and her closing splits weren't bad.

I liked Smok'n Frolic and she's been a pretty decent producer. Looks like Ghostzapper was a good match for her (Hunters Bay and Wild Flapper both being stakes horses), so too bad for Uncle Frank that he sold her. But, hey, seems like Deep Impact works for most any mare

Touching Speech, f, Deep Impact x Listen (IRE), broke her maiden at Hanshin, 2000m turf for 2yos, on 7th Dec.

A recent post, dated 11th Dec, in the largest racing forum in Japan says that Touching Speech's full brother, Listen 2013, sold for JPN 260m at the Select Sale 2014 to Sheikh Fahad Al Thani, will be shipped to Kremlin House Stables in Newmarket to be managed by Roger Varian there. It had been reported that the colt would be racing in Japan by a Japanese trainer. I can't confirm this report, but an interesting development if true.

Edit; the news was confirmed.
