What if Halo had been sold to Europe...

I was reading, Bred To Run, and in it, Seth Hancock says that Halo was bought for stud duties by a European stud. But the sale was voided when the buyers found he was a cribber. Halo being a cribber is the only thing that led us to have so many wonderful horses. The list would be long and extensive, but there wouldn't be Sunday Silence and his dominance in Japan, Street Cry, Zenyatta, Singspiel, Rahy, Serena's Song, Fusaichi Pegasus, Pine Bluff, Street Sense, Havre De Grace, etc, etc, etc.

This is my favorite line- it would have been a tremendous loss to us. There is temperament associated with the line (Halo himself was apparently one SOB- and I met Devil's Bag- he had that look in his eye -"Dont F#$K with me")- but they are sound and can run.
That fact that he was a cribber- while most people don't like- I think that in addition to his fiery nature may have ultimately killed the deal. We sure did win on this one.
