Musketier is not a "pretty" horse, he doesn't look like a high priced race horse. Oxbow is very cute and well put together but he is tiny and looks like a pony.

Both proving looks, size and talent don't always correlate.

I agree. I'm not sure where he could even be faulted. At least in this picture.
Once upon a time there was a horse named Kelso.

I agree - he is a lovely horse. Just about the only nitpick flaw I can see is the slightest hint of a ewe neck - that heavier muscling on the underside of his neck, but that could also be how he is posed.

I don't know that he would ever 'wow' anyone, but he is a better looking horse than that photo.

Of the Spendthrift boys, I like Cross Traffic, Shakin It Up and Temple City best.

Flat Out is a babe. I also love Jimmy Creed, he has quite the butt.

Some horses just don't photograph well, kinda like people.

Rahy and Dynaformers pictures never really did them justice (the official confo shots). They looked totally different in person. Rahy looked like a throwback to the Arab blood, and Dynaformer was built like a brick S#$%house- very imposing looking.

I'm not a big fan of that look, either. I think it's more pleasing to the eye to have a more natural type of surrounding.

Another case of 'is it his legs...or is it a bad job of Photoshopping?' :?
I've seen good photos of Animal Kingdom that weren't outlined and, IMO, the connections need to provide a conformation shot that is NOT potentially victimized by some graphic artist's choices of where to go with the silhouette.

Stallions (and sales horses) are set up so that all four legs are visible to someone viewing them from the side. Because the near front leg is dropped straight, the off front leg has to be angled to be seen behind it. It's not photoshop. It's not bad legs. It's the way Thoroughbred horses are presented.

I dislike Darley's use of photos pasted onto white backgrounds, but I see nothing wrong with AK or Flat Out. I find both very good looking.
