Coolmore's about as open and forthcoming about the deaths of their horses as North Korea.

Condolences to Tim Yakteen, the owners and all the connections of this classy son of Benchmark. The only good thing is that rider Mike Smith was not injured when his mount went down.

According to the Turf-Times newsletter, he was supposed to enter stud in Germany next year, but died a couple of weeks ago while in quarantine. He stood at Darby Dan, KY previously where he bred only a handful of mares each year..

He was the 2012 and 2013 leading juvenile sire, which makes this loss doubly hard.
Godspeed, Harlan's Holiday, handsome boy.

Here's the Bloodhorse article: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/ ... euthanized
There's one on DRF, too...but that site is acting up today, and the article is taking forever to load for me.

As per Deborah Jones on FB, who usually gets her info from people on the scene, 6yo Ruler Boy was killed this morning at Charles Town, in a collision with a runaway 2yo. The 2yo wasn't identified. Ruler Boy's exercise rider, former jockey Roosevelt Woodson, is in the hospital. I don't have any details on his condition.
RIP, Ruler Boy; jingles for Roosevelt
