He is going to be the first Galileo son to stand at stud in Japan.
Good luck to him!

According to this Paulick article, it's a lease for one or two years, not a sale. I would have been surprised if Coolmore had sold him, since he's been pretty popular with breeders...and they do like to hang on to their good Galileo boys.
Cape Blanco, winner of the 2011 Eclipse Award for Champion Turf Male, will stand in Hokkaido next season, according to a report in the Racing Post. The Japan Bloodhorse Breeders’ Association has entered into a lease agreement with Coolmore to stand Cape Blanco for one or two years.

I do notice that the article link says "sold." I wonder if, when Paulick first got the news, whoever did the original article was under the impression that Cape Blanco had, indeed, been SOLD. And now that the arrangement has been shown to be a lease, the editors have not gone back and changed the text in the link.

Shakespeare has been pensioned. No official story or anything on it, but a friend of mine sent in a request for info to Lane's End and received this:
Shakespeare has been retired and moved to his owners farm '' Dell Ridge'' farm. He is doing very well there. The lack of interest from breeders ( 4 mares bred in 2014) prompted his move.

Anyone know what happened to Kodiak Kowboy? WinStar released their stallion's stud fees for 2015 and he is not on the list. There is no mention of him at all on their site now. Is he staying in Brazil?

Boisterous to stand for $5,000.

Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, in partnership with Gary Barber, will stand new stallion Boisterous for the 2015 breeding season at Tom and Debi Stull's farm near Santa Ynez, Calif.

This is very cool! He should be received well in a state that's lost some good studs recently.

There is an export on file for him(forgot that he went to Brazil)- so perhaps he is staying?

I know he never did much on the track, but it might be worth taking a mare to him just for that pedigree...A.P. Indy X Balance...for only $2,000. Wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be a good regional sire. Though that probably won't take the sting out of the $4.2 million loss. :?

Winstar has bought a half interest in Daredevil, believing that the son of their stallion, More than Ready, may be a good prospect to carry on his sire's bloodline.

Poor Magician, he deserves better. He may look back with longing to those days when he only had to run to earn his keep.

I'm honestly surprised they won't keep him in training. Ballydoyle's pickings for older horses are going to be slim next year, and he could be a nice globetrotting type. I mean, he has already raced in Ireland, England, the US and Dubai and is consistent enough. He loves a firm track and I could see him doing well in Hong Kong or Japan.

Ashford/Coolmore seem to get more than their fair share of criticism for perceived overbreeding, so I think it's fair to list the below stallions and their 2014 mares covered:

Kitten's Joy 204
Into Mischief 203
Scat Daddy 202
Midnight Lute 186
Violence 181
Bodemeister 176
Flat Out 169
Uncle Mo 166
Tapit 165
Warrior's Reward 164
Shanghai Bobby 160
Majestic Warrior 158
Gio Ponti 154
Super Saver 154
Curlin 152

At least most of those non-Coolmore stallions aren't shuttling and covering a large book in the Southern Hemisphere, too. Although, I'm aware that some of those stallions do cover at home on SH time.

As far as the Winstar horses go- I think I remember reading that they got like 15-20 on SH time for the boys.
